Best time to visit Helen, Christmas time! The Helendorf is decorated beautifully but on the river and reasonably price. Our room even had a small Christmas tree. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok.This is our place to stay when visiting Helen!

Nice place to stay but it’s an older motel and has some age and wear. Clean. Good value. Flat pillows. Great location and you can walk to any thing in downtown area. Visit Helen at Christmas if you can.

We enjoyed our stay at this Inn. Yes it is dated but rustic as well. Our room faced the river and liked hearing the sound of the river as it cascading along. Great location to walk to all the shops and restaurants right in town. Friendly staff and breakfast is provided.

The pool appears to be enclosed. Is it open in October?
The pool is enclosed and heated - but poorly maintained. After seeing feces in the pool area and it remaining there for the duration of our stay I would suggest you avoid it for safety reasons. The rest of the resort is wonderful but whoever is responsible for the pool does a regrettable job at best.

I would also recommend calling with your question. This year will be three years in a row that we have stayed there, and the river access is beautiful. Or a at least a balcony which is what we do.

Does this hotel serve breakfast? If not, is there a restaurant close by that has a good breakfast?
Huddle House is across from Wendy’s next door. Easy walk and breakfast all day...

Lisa, Thank you for your question about the Helendorf. We are located in the heart of Helen right on the Chattahoochee River which comes through town. It is a quick and easy walk to all the shops and restaurants in old Helen and the Helen Festhalle is adjacent to our property. Richard Owner

is there a swimming pool maybe a hot tub walking trail for our little dog thxs
Yes, we have a pool for our guests, however, there is not an outdoor hot tub at the pool. We have 6 rooms in which pets are permitted by advance reservation. There is a $20.00 per pet per night fee. In addition, there is a space to walk your dog at our property but if you are interested in beautiful mountain trails for walking your dog, we can suggest several. The trails in our area include the Appalachian Trail.
