We had the best time visiting the Lake Rabun Hotel. Because it was the week after Thanksgiving it was very quiet. We felt the hotel was absolutely perfect and would have stayed longer if we could. Totally charming. We will definitely return.

My goodness! What a treat. It is a traveling day you really kind of dread, but when you pull into this hilltop inn, with red and yellow fall dripping all around it, and the lake glistening in low light all day long, it was worth it. Dinner was four star. Better than an atl restaurant bc the plates were full!...

My wife drove up to the North Georgia mountains last weekend. We stayed at the Lake Rabin Hotel and had dinner in the restaurant. Staff was extremely attentive and the overall service provided was excellent. We stayed in the moonshine room. It was on the second floor just off the main hallway. The room was small, but it was clean...

My wife and I along with two other couples stayed this past weekend (Sat and Sun) with an early Monday departure. Our check-in was conducted by Beth. She was very nice and informative. She is an asset - don't let her get away. We made a reservation for a 6:30 dinner for 6. We later asked if we could push...

Restaurant service was terrible, server didn't know about any of the wines. Food quality was sub par and nothing close to what was advertised on the website. Seating was cramped. The brunch menu was limited. The fried chicken and waffles was not edible. The fried chicken was burnt beyond consumption. Waffles were cold. Basically all the food was cold. Obviously...

We spent 2 nights here Nov 4th-6th to celebrate a birthday and recent promotion. We arrived late on Friday but Beth left us an envelope at the front desk with everything we needed to know. The first night we sat around the fireplace on the 1st floor with a bottle of wine and chatted with other guests. We stayed in...

We spent two nights in the new third floor Witham Point Room. It is larger than the other rooms, but has one serious drawback: the bathroom door is a sliding barn door that offers no privacy at all for a person using the bathroom. None. So if you are bit modest about such things ask for a different room. The...

Thank you for your kind words about our service. I apologize for the negatives of your experience and would love to offer explanation concerning some of the details. First, Chloe the Cat has been our guest relations ambassador since 2008, and has never harmed one guest, except that she sheds a little. We clean the area daily, but can't monitor...

Marvellous three night stay in the Innkeeper's Cottage, nearby, but separate from, the hotel with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a comfortable living room, kitchen and a proper log cabin rustic porch. Hotel facilities are included with a hearty complimentary breakfast, cleaning service and the opportunity to dine in its first class restaurant, which was superb. Beautiful, just how we imagined...

Tonight I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Lake Rabun Restaurant and Hotel, on the candle lite rustic porch surrounded by trees, and near Lake Burton in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The restaurant is cozy, romantic, charming and most of all the food is outstanding, fine wines and wonderful personal service. The local vegetables were prepared in unusual-delicious ways. My...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant celebrated its 90th birthday in 2012. It's the last surviving mountain lodge on a lake in Georgia. Because it has stayed true to the look and the feeling of another, perhaps more peaceful, time, it's been called both a regional and a national treasure. For decades generations have enjoyed the beauty of the lake and mountains. Carefully restored by preservationists in 2008 to maintain its ancestral charm, it features gardens of native plants, rock pillars and walkways, locust log decks, and balconies with views of Lake Rabun and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Lake Rabun is one of the most beautiful lakes in the mountains of North Georgia. ... more   less
