I’ve stayed in many Scottish holiday cottages: Glenmorangie is up there with the best. Beautifully furnished - the massive bed was extremely comfortable - exceptionally well equipped, and generously centrally heated with the added fun of a small but highly effective woodburning stove. The welcome hamper outstripped by a large margin anything I have previously experienced. And all of this in a fantastic hillside setting with stunning views of the Clyde and its estuary. I’ll be back.

We stayed in the Glenmorangie cottage for a week and it was a very relaxing stay. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The hosts were great and answered any questions we had as well as giving us tips on where to visit. The cottage is well situated for walking and the walk to Loch Humphrey is stunning. We stayed there with our dog and it was very dog friendly too. Would highly highly recommend the cottage and we will definitely return.

Once again, my visit to Gavinburn Cottages was just wonderful. The cottages are well equipped with everything to make you feel at home. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished . Set high in the Scottish hillside overlooking the River Clyde, the views are just spectacular. No hotel in town would give you that view. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Perfect location. Glasgow and Edinburgh to the East & Loch Lomond and the highlands to the West. All within easy reach. It has been such a joy to visit again. Hosts Alex and Leigh Ann have been so hospitable and offer a beautiful place to stay. I'll be back again for sure. Catherine

Another great week at Gavinburn, our fourth visit and lots of new memories. The return of the welcome pack was very ‘welcome’ and the new landscaping was great. Lots of lovely walks in the Kilpatrick Hills, until the next time!

We have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK an I can say without doubt this was the best for many reasons. There are 5 cottages and we stayed in the Auchentoshan, a three-bedroom cottage that sleeps up to six people. It was Christmas and the owner decorated the living room for us complete with a tree. Bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic. Everything was supplied including a useful welcome pack. Great location to explore that part of Scotland. Definitely recommend.

I’ve stayed at the cottages 3 times now, twice in 2022 and once in 2019. These cottages are truly excellent. The location is superb, you’re up in the hills with a lovely view of surrounding hills, fields and the river Clyde (also Loch Lomond on your right). There are highland cows around the cottages 90%’of the time which really adds something, you can walk up the hills behind the cottages to loch Humphrey if you fancy a little trek! On the other hand, the cottages are near Kilpatrick station - a 20 minute walk down and you can hop on the train to Glasgow and to Edinburgh from there (I’m a Celtic fan living in England so this is a great way to go see my team). Inside the cottages, the view is just as superb. I’ve stayed in ‘Auchentoshan’ and ‘Glenmorangie’ and both are immaculately decorated in a modern, yet cosy style! They are also extremely well equipped with kitchen items (plates, pans, utensils etc), towels, dishwasher, shampoo and shower gel, wood for the fire, storage space - everything! There’s even laundry facilities and DVD’s/board games to choose from as well as leaflets on local attractions. They’re dog friendly! You’re also a 10 minute drive from Dumbarton which has several supermarkets and fuel stations. There’s a small shop in the village and a couple of pubs. They even give you a welcome hamper with some basic supplies (and a drop of whiskey if that’s your kind of thing) I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Stayed in the Glenmorangie cottage for a week in July 2022. The property is nothing short of superb. Beautifully furnished and equipped throughout. The views are exceptional, with an elevated vista over the Erskine Bridge from the lounge and down the Firth of Clyde from the bedroom. Plenty of parking and a lovely front garden shared only with the other residents. Also of note a fantastic walk from the front door over to Loch Humphrey reservoir and the Kilpatrick Hills. And the most opulent welcome pack ever! With close family in the area, we’ll definitely be back, availability permitting.

Just back from a week staying in The Macallan cottage at Gavinburn, what a perfect holiday location. The best equipped self catering cottage we have ever stayed in, every detail thought of, comfortable and so cosy in the autumn evenings with the log burner fire on looking out over the twinkling lights below. Location is perfect, hill walking on your doorstep with fantastic views. Also so close to country parks, canal, the ferries to the inner Clyde islands, Loch Lomond and some excellent restaurants, a special mention for Monadh Kitchen in Bearsden, Michelin rated food, great service and exceptional value! Our host Alex kept us informed at all times and was excellent in dealing with a brief wifi issue, great service. Don’t hesitate in booking Gavinburn Cottages, they live up to everything they promise and we have no doubt we are coming back soon.

As a couple we recently stayed in the Glenmorangie cottage for a week. We have stayed in countless self-catering properties over the years and would count this one among the very best of them. The cottage is clean, modern, fresh. The kitchen is very well equipped, with all of the usual crockery, cutlery, pans and utensils, as well as a teapot, cafetière, tinfoil, kitchen roll, teatowels, dish cloths, washing-up sponges and liquid, bin bags, torch, first aid kit, a Covid hygiene/cleaning kit etc etc. Also included is a generous supply of firewood, kindling, firelighters, a smart TV and always-on wifi, a hairdryer, full access to a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, detergent, ironing board and iron, and access to a locked bike shed. They have thought of everything! On top of all that, the location is superb with stunning views and convenient for exploring Loch Lomond and hiking in the Trossachs as well as walking in the local Kilpatrick Hills and visiting Glasgow. We didn't have any direct contact with Alex or Leigh-Anne during our stay and appreciated the contactless check-in/check-out with the convenient key safe just outside the cottage door. Alex and Leigh-Anne were in contact before our arrival and provided all the directions and information we needed. They also made it clear that they were readily available in case we needed them for anything. All in all a most enjoyable stay. We rarely if ever stay at the same place twice, but we would love to stay at Gavinburn Cottages again.
