We are just home from another lovely stay in The Cabin. We have been here a few times now and always return we come home feeling so chilled and rested. The cabin it’s self is so cute and cosy, the hot tub is a added bonus and even though it was raining it’s all sheltered so you can relax and listen to the sound of the rain. The hosts are so helpful with any problems big or small it’s never an issue to contact and get a speedy reply. We also love being able to bring our small dog and take her lovely walks around the surroundings or a trip to the kelpies and Falkirk wheel which are very close by. We are already looking into our next visit just love the place can’t wait to return!

We stayed in the cabin for one night. The cabin itself was lovely. The issue we had was with the hot tub only one half of the jets was working. This was the main reason we booked here and for the price you pay I would’ve expected the hot tub to be working correctly.

Firstly the positives. A beautiful setting in stunning countryside with squirrels and wildlife. The property was clean and the beds were comfy enough. Unfortunately that’s were it ends. We are four sixty plus women who had no hot water for showering or washing dishes for two days, the promised use of a hot tub was not available due to it being dirty. There were no instructions on how to use any of the appliances, including the hot water thermostat and worst of all there were no smoke alarms in the cottage at all., even though it is now law that interlinked one’s should be provided. Two empty holders where they should have been were present as was a fire blanket which was placed on a very deep window sill behind the kitchen work top, making it virtually unreachable unless you climbed into the rim of the washing machine. The wardrobe in the bedroom had been taken out and a silly dressing table with a mirror had been put in instead, which you couldn’t see in as there was no light. We all had to share the other bedrooms small wardrobe. There was no facilities to dry towels or hang wet jackets. We contacted Erin by phone, who told us that we had got a good deal on the stay, although that should not have made any difference to the quality of the cottage and the service provided. Erin passed us onto her husband to discuss some of the issues, who told us that the property was “quite safe” and then shouted at us to leave the property immediately as he was going to call the police. We do wish that the police had turned up to find 4 wifies sitting in their pjs and nighties, having an evening cup of tea before bed. The incident left us all shaken and spoilt our final evening of our two night stay and left us all wondering exactly what we had done to cause such a response. We haven’t had any further response from anybody, but noted that the property is closed until 08/08, hopefully to correct some of issues we raised.

Not as advertised! No hot water, in need of good clean although bedding ok, tv remote control in bedroom didn’t work and was filthy! Main tv couldn’t get to work! Sky remote control but no sky box! HOT TUB was DIRTY and when switched on jets black bits came out! Worst of all, no smoke detector! Contacted Erin who was very apologetic that we didn’t get welcome pack. Told us had issues with last guests and they maybe removed it! . Fair enough these things happen. She said she’d send e mail with how to work everything but wouldn’t download! Phoned back after 1 hr and asked her to talk through tv! Still wouldn’t work. When asked about smoke detector was told husband dealt with that. As far as we’re aware every property should have these in place. Passed phone to husband who told us accommodations was very safe! Why do health and safety say SMOKE DETECTORS?? Husband lost the plot and screamed down telephone to 4 woman in their 60’s to LEAVE HIS PROPERTY NOW AS PHONING POLICE!!! Well, can you see police running in to find 4 pensioner sitting with their cups of tea trying to get tv to work!! One member of our party was very upset and worried he would appear and put us out!! Anyway the rest of us laughed as know police have better thing to do! Still waiting for phone call back but DONT BOOK until safety issues are rectified! We don’t like writing this TERRIBLE review but when it comes to safety issues it’s bad!

Lovely evening spent in The Cabin. Love all the wee extra touches like the candles, lights and music on our arrival. The hot tub was amazing. No need for the firepit as it was a very warm evening already. Excellent night away from it all. Will definitely be back.

I booked a firepit and hottub package at The Cabin on itison then saw some of the reviews on here which cast doubt into my mind (I always take these with a pinch of salt) but these couldn't be further from the truth. Upon arrival there was plenty places to park, we found it easy enough and were greeted by a very nice, friendly man who showed us to the cabin and showed us how everything worked. He also recommended some places to eat and we ended up opting for a local chinese takeaway that was also unreal. The cabin is GORGEOUS and so are the grounds. Absolutely stunningly decorated. Spotlessly clean. The outdoor area is lovely too. Plenty seating, fab hottub and firepit area. So many squirrels running about too. It features a fridge/freezer and lots of nice touches. I felt so relaxed the whole time we were here, all you can hear is the birds. The bed was so comfy and there were plenty of pillows (I'm recovering from a chest infection so I've been sleeping propped up so I was worried that might not be possible here but it wasn't an issue) I actually slept the best I have in months. It feels like you are miles into the country but with the luxury of still being able to get takeaways delivered and Snappy Shopper if you need extra wee bits, really is the best of both worlds. Cannot fault this place at all. We were blown away from start to finish. We will definitely be booking again.

Never in my life have I been so disappointed and disgusted at the state of accommodation on offer. The main house was all we were offered even though we had booked the entire place it sleeps 18 and our party was 22. It was dirty the pool and hot tub were not somewhere to dip your toes in never mind the rest of you. The beds were cheap and fell apart the bedding was disgusting all stained and I don't think they had been washed the pool bar roof was leaking badly and the whole place needs an upgrade. To charge 3 thousand pounds for a weekend and offer a very substandard place is unacceptable I would never recommend this place the only good thing was the nice location The owner needs a lesson in customer service big time. Never stay here.

So disappointed, this place is so dated and dirty. I am used to living in a remote location but there was no TV signal in bedroom, even if the TV had been working! No signal for mobile phones, rooms were basic and bedding was filthy, there was mould on my bedroom ceiling as in pic.Bathroom/showers were inadequate. Don't waste your money.

Went here for a hen doo in May 2023 it is disgusting 🤮 On arrival myself and my 78 year old mum walked through the door to be met with a guy dragging dirty stained duvets and pillows out of a dirty cupboard under the stairs and putting duvet covers on them. My mum said I hope you’re not expecting me to sleep with that it’s disgusting. The house is old and damp and we stuck to the floors in the bathroom in the room of the bedroom on the ground floor. The bed I was in was sunk in the middle and stank of Mens aftershave so needles to say I slept on top of the covers. The bed my sister was in fell apart. The hot tub was filthy and so was the pool. We paid over £3000 for what we thought was the house and cottages to be told it was just the house, which only sleeps 18 and there were 22 of us. There was mould on one of the bedroom walls. I only saw one smoke detector in the whole place. Things were hanging off the walls. The dishwasher in the kitchen was all taped up so you couldn’t use that one and the other one was stinking when you opened the door. I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE THINKING OF RENTING THIS DUMP TO AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. I am actually thinking of going to trading standards and the environmental health. This place needs a complete overhaul 😡😡 Oh and if you do rent it make sure you wear a crash helmet when going up the stairs in the kitchen to the main sitting room as you will probably crack your head on the banister sticking down from the staircase .

It was absolutely stunning, the little cabin where we stayed was a fab getaway for us. The privacy for the hot tub was perfect, surrounding were so peaceful and I loved the fact the cabin itself was pink! So girly and pretty. Would 100% recommend for an overnight stay or weekend away! It's a little hidden gem!
