We loved it here!! Beautiful little property with great atmosphere for the breakfast buffet. We were very pleasantly surprised to know that the hotel rate included a speedboat to Murano and Venice. Great overall service. About a 15 minute walk to the Vaporetto. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Thehotel is totally retro and in a perfect position at the lido, the hotel team is mellow and chill, it's a very specail place. The bar is great and the food too, also the breakfast is great. This hotel is one of the few left in the area that gives you that falir of the grand tour de italie.

This is a beautiful and unique hotel. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful particularly the wonderful lady who managed the breakfast buffet each morning. Great experience, highly recommend.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. I came here with my family to celebrate my 18th birthday. I arrived the day before my birthday, shortly after checking in I attempted to connect to their wifi since I needed to RESVP to confirm I will be attending my high school graduation before the deadline which was the next day… this is when I noticed the wifi dose not work. I brought this to the attention of the front desk lady at 11am she said around it will be on by 3pm at the latest.. 3pm comes and still no wifi. I tell the lady I would like a refund now and will change hotels and she assures me it will be on by tomorrow morning (the deadline for my graduation and my 18th birthday) and states that the entire island had no wifi at the moment (which I later found out was a complete lie). She says she will be the one working tomorrow and if the wifi is not on by then she will refund my family for the full 3 nights we have booked… The next day arrives (my 18th birthday) and still no wifi, I am unable to see birthday wishes from friends and family and now will not be able to attend my high school graduation since I didn’t have access to wifi to RESVP by the deadline. I go to the front desk to see the lady is infact not working and she had lied, instead there is a man working. I explain the situation to him and what the previous receptionist had said… he refuses to do anything and is overall very rude. Finally he tells us we can have a refund and the only way for a refund is through the website so we agree to this and check out of our three night stay after the first night, to a different, cleaner and waterfront hotel which was extremely accommodating. Our new hotel actually informed me that they have had no issues with wifi when Albergó hotel said the entire island was having wifi issues… which is when I then realized I had been being lied to. Also in another review the hotels response is that the wifi came back on the day we left… this is not true we had booked 2 rooms with them and only canceled one for the better hotel we switched to, so our other family members were still at the Albergo hotel. Our family members who were still there informed us they didn’t have wifi the entire 3 day duration of their stay.
It is extremely unfortunate the lack of respect and honesty the workers at Albergó have for their guests, it was a really sad birthday finding out I cannot attend my high school graduation, on a day that was meant to be so special.

Once we arrived home from our vacation we tried to set up the refund both workers guaranteed us.. it’s has been almost a year and we have reached out many times for a refund yet we have received nothing despite their promises.

Do not advertise you have wifi if you do not, and if there is an issue with a feature you claim to have it is your duty to accommodate the customer.

The hotel was also underwhelming and dusty, I could go on but this review is about their lack of costumer service and straight out lies.

This is a two star hotel at best. It advertises wifi which it does not deliver. Scroll though other reviews and you will see this happens often despite what the front desk may tell you. The frontdesk staff even lied and said the internet was out in the whole area. I checked. It was not. I switched hotels the next morning and everyone was much happier.

Also, note that this is a hotel that will not refund money. Do not pay any money up front to them. We checked out after one night and they would not refund for the following two nights. This was after the front desk staff woman said they would refund the following two nights if the internet was fixed by the next day. A refund for the following two nights was refused when we checked out. This hotel must be really suffering from a lack of customers so they feel justified in keeping two nights worth of money for services not rendered.

Albergo Quattro Fontane has a nice garden as seen in the photos. However, the bedrooms are tired, dingey and stale. I strongly recommend booking at the far superior hotels on the beach, for the same price, which include bright bedrooms with a sea view, a balcony, a comfortable bed, a modern washroom and shower, superior air conditioning, friendly staff that are always at the front desk 24/7, a delicious breakfast and functioning internet.

Response from , General Manager at Albergo Quattro Fontane
Responded 5 Jul 2023
Dear Catherine, unfortunately the wifi line was interrupted not because of the hotel but because of technical problems external to the hotel. We are also sorry to learn that your opinion of our hotel, as a historic residence, is based solely on the wifi line when our guests usually greatly appreciate the peace of our garden as well as the antique furnishings of the rooms. The next day the wifi line worked and it was your decision to leave the hotel anyway, and at the Hotel we do not provide refunds for rooms booked as NON-refundable. Your comment however makes us sadly reflect on what has become the priorities on vacation.

This hotel is very old. Having said this, it was very quaint with nicely decorated rooms. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean. It had a small refrigerator and a safe. The staff were professional and helpful. The food was quite good.

However, the air conditioning system is a joke. I was prepared for it not to get the room cold but I expected it to get the room somewhat cool. When we returned to the room after a hot, busy day in Venice Island, I was looking forward to a shower and a cool room. The room was actually warmer than the air outside. I took the shower and then was soaked in sweat for half of the night until the outside temperature cooled enough for the room to cool. The hotel made noises about getting a technician in to "adjust" the system the next morning and we were assured that the AC would be fine the next even upon our return. To our dismay this was not the case and we spent a second very uncomfortable night.

Again, I didn't expect cold but the room temperature at night was at least 27 celcius, and I'm sure that it was higher. It was stifling.

For this reason I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. I will never stay here again.

Room is different from the pictures. Extremely Boring Breakfast. Internet is so poor that we had to use mobil data all the time. Restaurant is just average but expensive.

We asked the hotel to arrange a water taxi to murano, and comes a guy who worked for a glass factory. We are only allowed to see their factory/shop and were sent to Venice center right away. We could not see anything else at murano. Scam.

Overall very disappointing.

Venice is a fantastic city, however, staying there in a hotel can be a nasty and noisy affair. A good alternative is choosing a hotel on the Lido. We stayed at Albergo Quattro Fontane for a week and simply enjoyed. Quattro Fontane is a stylish country house surrounded by lush gardens. The only sound we heard at night was the gentle rolling of the waves. It is located 200 meters from the next entrance to the beach (keep in mind that the famous Lido Beach is completely fenced and you have to pay an entrance fee during high season; in October however, the gates stood open). It is a nice walk along a canal of about 800 meters to the waterbus station. The waterbus (vaporetto) brings you to San Marco in 9 minutes and runs every 5 minutes day and night. This means you are faster at San Marco than from many downtown hotels. The house (which was built in 1910, but displays some structures from a former house of 1573) is cramped with antiques and samples from exotic countries. The public rooms - lobby, bar, library, dining room - are cozy and lovely. We had connecting double rooms in the old main house (they also have an annex from the 1960s) which were spacious and furnitured with antiques. The bathroom was okay (although somewhat dated). We also enjoyed a large balcony. The service is just excellent. The friendly staff at the reception helped us a lot, particularly with very complicated reservations of a visit to the fantastic Giotto chapel in Padova. One word about the restaurant: The setting is wonderful both in summer, when dinner is served outside under a huge tree, and in spring or fall, when you have dinner in the historical dining room in front of the fireplace from 1573 which is lit every night. Strangely, the menu is somewhat dimissive because the prices appear high at a first glance. However, they also offer a reasonable priced three-course-menu including mineral water and wine. The old-school multilingual waiter (what a jewel!) will suggest the daily specials and then you will be served a wonderful home-style Venetian cuisine. An example menu would consist of homemade pumpkin gnocci in basil sauce, which melt on the tongue, osso bucco with saffron rice and fresh-made tirami su (a specialty from Venice). We had five dinners in the restaurant and enjoyed each time. To conclude, Albergo Quattro Fontane is a good choice for a relaxing stay, to sit in the gardens, to walk along the beach, to experience authentic home-style cuisine, and to make trips to Venice whenever you want (e.g., it is a good idea to spend a relaxing day at the Lido and to go to Venice not before 15:00 after the tour buses have left. This way we had NO waiting time at the Palazzo Ducale!). Furthermore, if you travel by car, you will certainly enjoy free parking at the Quattro Fontane. The fare for the ferry will be quickly earned if you consider the fees for parking at Tronchetto.)

This hotel is perfect-- in a quiet residential area on the Lido, a block from the Adriatic Sea. It is an easy 10 min. walk to the Vaporetto stop to Venice and other islands. Beautifully decorated rooms, common rooms filled with antiques and flowers, excellent breakfast. Worth every penny.

The hotel does offer meals. There are several choices of restaurants on this Lido Island. In order to get to the main water taxis, you walk right past a wonderful pizza - pasta place. It's difficult not to stop there because the food is delicious and the aroma tempts you every time.
