Venice Lido Hotel Villa Pannonia is situated just 300 m. from the boat station, Santa Maria Elisabetta in Venice Lido. The building dates back to the early 1900's and was used as a summer residence by noble East European families, who enjoyed the famous beaches of the Venice Lido. The historical façade, belonging to the eclectic period at the beginning of the century, is tinted in a typical Venetian red; an abundance of windows with pointed arches overlook a splendid garden which is at our clients disposal for complete relaxation. Traditions and modernity harmonise in Hotel Villa Pannonia, Venice Lido; the classic setting enhances the innovation and design which abounds in the avant-garde atmosphere, furniture and objects have been created by famous designers. Within the hotel, a continuous and stimulating art exhibition has been dedicated to contemporary artists.

This is a remarkably comfortable and well served B&B in Venice. It is far enough from the Venice anthill atmosphere, which can come as a balm after a day, busy as are the days in this most wonderful city. I chose it because I read from other travelers that a hotel far from the center could be an advantage. Pannonia is located at Lido, the island part of Venice where the film festival takes place; except from the period where the festival takes place it is a calm and adorable neighbourhood, with residential houses and buildings, several very good and attractive restaurants for all tastes, hungry and pocket sizes, as well as all you may need during the trip (drugstore, clothing, sport ware, etc). We really enjoyed the extra 10-15 minutes spent at the Vaporetto after the day was over, unwinding, re-experiencing in the mind the beauties of the day until getting to Lido and going for a perfect calm dinner and silent sleep. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was the best we had in the entire trip (which included 5 other places we stayed at). The people at front desk is always helpful with tips, luggage or whatever was wished. I highly recommended for all of the above reasons, plus the great cost-benefit.

We stayed as a couple in October and found the hotel to be conveniently situated in a nice area with easy access to the water bus terminal.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms are nice enough with modern design.
The shower is on the small side and I found the mattress uncomfortable however my wife found it acceptable.
The breakfast was not great and the coffee poor for Italy but there are plenty of places for coffee and breakfast within a five minute walk.
Overall I would return to this hotel as it’s an ideal base with clean rooms in a nice area and a convenient location, when visiting Venice your not going to be spending that much time in the hotel.

The hotel is in a good location, and easy to reach from the harbor. We were provided with a family room that hosted five of us and it was roomy. Breakfast was good - kids loved it.
For us, it was a pleasant surprise to see photos of our homeland, Armenia in the lobby. The reception staff was helpful and friendly.
Highly recommend.

Bad breakfast, very limited choices, no hot options except a hard boiled egg. Overpriced hotel that is not a 4 star property. Beds were not comfortable. It is quiet, and staff were nice, and that was the only plus. If you are charging 200EUR per night, you could make a guest an omlette in the least ! Coffee was also bad.

What a fantastic and cosy hotel! The location is perfect; by foot 10 minutes from the ocean, 10 minutes from the ferry station. On top of that, you have everything you need in the immediate neighbourhood. The rooms are very nice, modern, enhanced clean, and silent. As if this isn't enough, the staff is exceptionally friendly 24/7. I'll definitely come back here, and I strongly recommend it! Both for business trips and family vacations.

Quaint hotel with a wonderful location! My room on the 2nd floor had a nice view and was very quiet. Perfect size for an European hotel.
Staff were very friendly. My room was clean and I loved the big crank out windows to open. The location of the hotel was right off the main strip with all the restaurants and stores. And the beach was a nice walk, but with a wonderful view.

I stayed at the Villa Pannonia on the Lido in June 05. Location is good, about a 5 minute pleasant walk from the vaporetto stops and plenty of shops, restaurants etc in the area. I did elect to get a taxi from the vaporetto stop, costing 5 euros, well worth it, as I was feeling tired after my journey from UK. The hotel is basic but clean. I was on the 3rd floor - a long way to climb stairs with heavy bags - as there is no lift. Had a double room, single occupancy, at a good price. The shower in the bathroom was one of the best - powerful and hot - great after all the walking and exploration of Venice during the day! There is a small bar area - a bit faded but functional - but no lounge area. It was pleasant sitting in the gardens with a relaxing drink and daydreaming.... The hotel served breakfast and evening dinner was optional. Breakfast was buffet continental but plenty of variety and ample. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Room facilities were basic but clean. The tv remote control came in useful - not for changing channels as the batteries were dead - but gave me that essential extra couple of inches to reach the buttons on the TV manually!!! The telephone was on a shelf above the bed. As the flex was not very long, if you wanted to use the phone, you could not take it off the shelf and had to stand on the bed to reach and use it.There was no safe in the room but valuables can be put in the hotel safe. One annoying aspect was that the room lock was very temperamental and only locked after several attempts. Other guests had similar problems too,as you could hear them struggling with their keys!!

Would I stay here again? Location was good, staff good, price was good. Probably would do but may try a hotel on the main island in Venice next time. Of course, if I did that, I would miss the wonderful water bus ride and grand entrance into Venice. The journey is an unforgettable experience itself and within about 12 - 15 minutes, you can be in St. Mark's Square. Travel to and from the Lido is frequent so no worries there. Hope this has been helpful.

On the 26th of July 2015 we found the loss of 1000 Euro (one THOUSAND Euro (!)) from the safe of our room at Villa Pannonia.
We reported a theft to reception immediately and asked the stuff to call the police. We were told they could not do it, and added that we could go to police department ourselves but only on Monday.
The hotel manager, who was absent during our statement about the theft accused us of blackmail. She told that we reported a theft for getting discount on room rate at the hotel.
We have guaranteed the full payment and paid for the room. The reception stuff confirmed that we had not asked anything.
I asked the hotel manager to provide the protocol of opening the door with the electronic key but she refused. She also refused to show the protocol of opening the safe in our room.
After the incident, the hotel manager told that if we didn’t trust her we had to leave «her villa». These words were recorded by me on a Dictaphone.
Later, in a conversation with the Booking.com representative she tried to refuse from her words.
Finally, we made a statement about the incident to the Central Police Department in Venice, got the police report and moved to another hotel.
The Villa Pannonia doesn’t trust the customers. The hotel manager is not able to solve the currant problems. Her behaviour is unprofessional. What a pity!.. Their only plus is their location.

Am amazing little hotel just 5 minute walk from the Lido waterbus station (access to Venice and other islands). Takes about 10 mins on the waterbus from the Lido to San Marco Square (waterbus leaves every 10 mins). Excellent value for money and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been newly renovated so all rooms are beautiful, clean and modern. As an added bonus, there is also free WiFi although you have to get a new username and password daily from the front desk.

We offer some advice for the trip in general. Venice is very expensive but there are some ways to save money. Firstly from the airport, the main transport to Venice and the Lido is via the private waterbus company, Alilaguna. Airport to Venice or the Lido trips are 15 Euros per person (25 return) but you can get a travel card for the public transport system for much cheaper (e.g. 36 Euros for 72 hours) and this includes the bus from the airport to Venice, at this point waterbus service is available as part of the travel card. As you will most likely need the waterbus service unless you are taking water taxis which is quite expensive, it is worth buying a travel card at the aiport when you arrive to access the bus to get you to Venice. Travel on bus/waterbus from the airport to the Lido takes an extra 30 mins approximately relative to the Alilaguna boat service but will save you 25 Euros per person. On a final note about transport, we were very impressed with how efficient it was. We often sat outside and got some amazing pictures. We also recommend taking it around the island to get a good perspective of the island and points of interest.

Other advice we offer is about eating out at restaurants, which can be very expensive. Many places have a cover charge as well as service charge of 12% for sit down service. The cover charge (coperto) is from 2-3 Euros per person. There are quite a few restuarants that do not charge this and makes the meal much more reasonably priced if you can find them. This information is written in the menu so take a look at the menu before sitting down to eat.

Finally, beware of hidden charges everywhere, such as for using public toilets which cost 1.50 Euros per use. There is a Museum card that can be purchased for entry to some galleries and museums and this includes access to toilets (40 Euros for 7 days - no shorter option). But if you do not get this, make use of toilet facilities in restaurants and places like McDonalds (one of the few places to get coffee in a "to-go" cup). I know this sounds cheap but it is amazing how quickly you can find your money leaving your wallet. These are just a couple of tips that we discovered while there.

We would strongly recommend Venice and the Villa Pannonia to anyone. It is expensive but is a beautiful city and worth the trip.

Dear Sir/Madam, it depends how many days you are staying in Venice. Our advise is to buy a ticket for one day or two days or for a week. There is multiple choice and for the prices please visit the web site "Venezia Unica" Best regards Simonetta

We flew to Venice Marco Polo. Then you get a water bus which takes about an hour to get to Lido. It's a five minute walk from the water bus stop. You can get a private water taxi but that's 130 Euro rather than 10 for the bus.

Dear Brad, From Treviso Airport there is a bus service ATVO which takes you to Venice Piazzale Roma. You can then take the boat line number 5.1 (green coloured sign) or 6 from Piazzale Roma to the Lido, which takes 30 minutes. Villa Pannonia is situated just five minutes on foot from the boat station, you can print a little map from our website for better directions. Our Best regards, Pierangela
