Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This campground actually does not exist anymore. Purchased by same people who have Andreas on the River RV in Salmon but she told me it is not operating. Too bad as we wanted to stay at one of these to ride our Spyders down scenic 93. The Andreas RV park was booked solid.

The campground itself is beautifully maintained, and in a great location right off the river. I will 100% agree with all of the other reviews on the site that the owner, Robert, was probably one of the most rude individuals I have ever encountered in my LIFE. A grumpy old man with absolutely ZERO customer service skills. We made a 5 day reservation, and only stayed one night. We were afraid to even walk our dogs around the campsite when he was even outside. We felt like trapped prisoners in our own RV because of how negative his attitude was. We had a local friend bring us a meal, because we didn't want to unhook our 32 foot rig. He immediately came up to them, demanded that they leave, and then threatened me directly to my face that if they didn't leave, there would be consequences. The following day our friends came back to pick us up in their car for a hike. As the entered the park they were confronted with Robert standing there with a garden hose screaming at them and waving them out of his property. The window was rolled down to explain that they were just coming to PICK US UP AND NOT STAY, and he rolled his eyes and gasped. I am the type of person who doesn't leave reviews unless it was the best experience, or the worst. I think you know which this one is! If you do choose to stay and book here, stay out of Roberts way. He is rude, egotistical, and I felt treated worse because we were women. You would be better off sleeping in a parking lot than spending your money at Century 2 Review. This experience was SO TERRIBLE all around. Don't support this business.

We almost didn’t stop here because of reviews about the grumpy manager. But I’m glad we did, because our experience was delightful. Don’t be put off by the abrupt and gruff manner — I got past this and learned that Robert is hard of hearing. I know that’s not an excuse, but I was patient and friendly, and got the same back in return. The website was a bit confusing— I’m not sure why, but I didn’t see the reservation form at first. But after an email back and forth, I did submit the form, and got back a confirmation email. I believe the office may only be open from 3-7 PM so he makes it clear no check-ins before 3PM. I think you have to give a little place like this a break, and understand it’s a tiny business struggling along, with an elderly management. I do think all the up-charges are kind of crazy — but in in effect, it gives smaller vehicles a break! We paid cash and got a 10% discount. We had full hookups with 50 amp, and a spacious site for our 40’ motorhome and car. My total was $71.60 for two nights, with taxes (meticulously explained by Robert.) So that averaged $35.80 a night, which was reasonable. We loved this spot, partly because of our GOOD experience with Robert. He asked if there was any information we needed about the area. He recommended the museum. I asked if there was a nice hike with a view. He took me outside and pointed out a bluff in the distance, then gave me detailed instructions on how to get to Discovery Point, and said 6:30 pm is a good time for photos of the cliffs. He warned us to stay on the path because of prickly pear cactus in the desert prairie there. Later he stopped by with two fresh garden tomatoes for us. I do hope others have similar good experiences here. It’s a nice site on the Salmon River and the town of Salmon has a lot of rustic charm. I’m including some photos of the views from Discovery Point and the town.

Very nice location on the Salmon River and the spaces had ample room for our RV. But the seasoned citizen who checked us in was very GRUMPY and this is the kindest thing I can say. If our circumstances did not dictate we stay the night in Salmon we would have traveled on down the road. We will not be returning just so we do not have to deal with this cantankerous person!

Was new to Salmon - in town for a race in the mountains. The campground had everything I needed and more: A safe, flat space for my tent, nearby parking, clean bathrooms, access to laundry, close to town (easy to walk), RIGHT ON the river - with a great beach for relaxing or playing in the water, common area picnic tables by the water, and amazing scenery. oh - and functional wifi. The manager was SUPER friendly and kind to accommodate the influx of racers and the odd timelines we had. The price was reasonable. Couldn't have felt safer in an in-town campground despite the craziness of other events surrounding the area. Would gladly go back!

Booked for $31, then we arrived. Up-charges apply to extra adults (about $8) and even slideouts (about $1.50 per slideout) on your trailer or rv. I hear there are up-charges for pets too. Would be a 3 star review but cottonwood seeds everywhere here. There is a canal between this park and the river. You can cross a walking bridge over the canal. Just tested the wifi and the download was 1.03 mbps on OOKLA. Cottonwood seeds were stuck to the table, benches, our vehicle and trailer because it rained a bit. No outside rug allowed on the grass (so you can track in all of the seeds).

This owner is the worst manager of an RV park we have ever met. After reluctantly agreeing to pay his additional charge of $1.50 per slideout per day we registered for two nights. We paid with a credit card then walked with the owner to see the campsite. While explaining how he wanted us to drive there and mostly about all the things we could not do he became the most rude and condescending park manager we have encountered in 30 years of RVing. It was quickly apparent even pulling into this RV park was a big mistake so before moving the RV toward the site we agreed to leave and asked for a refund. He then flashed a clever smile and said he was going to charge us a $20 cancellation fee and was able to do so because he already had our signature on the credit card slip. I plan to dispute this charge with the credit card company but if I don’t get a refund it was worth $20 to get away from this person. The only good thing I can say is that it is not hard to find an empty site any day of the week. We ended up staying at another park nearby and while not as nice a setting the manager there was as friendly and helpful as RV park managers usually are. The lesson here is to always read the reviews before making a reservation.

Great location with a great view. Been here twice & will come again. Never seems full. Packed gravel drives & sites. Lots of shade trees in middle and south end, so tough on satellites--even the 3 north sites can be difficult because the satellites are so low on the S-SW horizon. For a class A motorhome, only 6 o7 back-in sites on either side will work. The 3 on the N side are very close; more space on the S side but no view there. For campers and 5th wheels, the PT sites in the middle offer decent grass and views besides. Quiet. We came out of our way to return. Love the view, nice small town with some excellent local restaurants. Try Oddfellows Bakery (take home a baguette) for specialty sandwiches, Salmon River Coffee Shop for great breakfasts, and Savage Grill for burgers. Junk Yard Bistro and Shady Nook Steakhouse have good reps too.

I stayed at this campground two years ago. I enjoyed the serenity of the location on the Salmon River and the hospitality of the owner so much that I returned for another night 's stay last week. The sounds of the river were music to my ears as it flowed by. I sat at one of the picnic tables and ate my lunch, which the owner complimented with a fresh tomato from his garden, while enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. My accommodations in the owner's rental were comfortable and I could have wished for nothing more. Beautifully maintained grounds. Wonderful owner. I am looking forward to returning to Century 2 Campground.

If you have never visited the Century 2 Campground in Salmon, ID, this is a must see. I visited here a week ago, spent one night, enjoyed rafting on the Salmon River that flows by the campground, and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful setting of this campground. Century 2 Campground is one with excellent amenities, clean bathhouses, nice laundry, beautiful and serene setting, and the owner is someone who is very hospitable as well as helpful with answering any questions regarding the surrounding area and with suggestions regarding sites to visit while in Salmon. I highly recommend this campground for anyone traveling in this direction. Your stay will be a memorable one.
