This is an excellent first night stop over when riding the coast to coast. It is directly on the off road route so no faffing around trying to find it. Ian and his wife are really nice people. They dried 6 blokes cycle gear over night in their own house, no fuss no charge and booked us in the local pub to make sure we got a good meal in the morning. You really must stay at a bunk house on the route as it’s such a different experience and a great laugh. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

Fell House was our stop-over for the 2nd night of the C2C. Great hosts who went out of their way to help after we turned up soaked from head to foot! The bunkhouse has everything you need, its clean, has plenty of space, ample food for breakfast, TV, DVDs, towels, hot shower and it's just a 5 min walk from the local pub, we couldn't have asked for more!!

A group of 7 of us booked to stay, but only 6 made it. We had no problem finding the cottage as Shayne was in the Rookhope Inn when we arrived and pointed us where to go. The Fell House Cottage is right on the C2C route and has a secure outhouse for bikes. The cottage is warm, and has good shower facilities. Good mattresses ensured a cracking nights sleep, and with a bed settee down stairs the snorer could be distanced from the rest of us :)
We had full english breakfasts in the morning which set us up for the final days ride. Shayne and Iain were very welcoming and helpful.

A real treat - absolute stunning views
Very clean bunk house. Well equipped kitchen and well stocked fridge.
Very friendly and helpful hosts. Even provisionally booked a table in the pub for our evening meal (which I had forgot to do)
Highly recommended

Where do I start...I stayed here with my daughter on a weekend through half term...and I was really impressed with this place...very clean and everything you need is tucked into this spacious bunk house...set on two levels...the beds upstairs were made with fresh clean linen and a towel supplied for us...with books made is feel warm and cosy with a heater just incase.
Downstairs was a sofa bed...tv and dining table with chairs...which was perfect for us to have a quick snack and our breakfast in the morning...the fridge and cupboard was fully stocked with all the necessary food and condiments needed...choice of meats and cheeses with fresh bread...croissants,,,cerials,,,soup,,,beans and eggs...(even egg poachers) with a microwave supplied and enough drinks to see us through...the shower is perfect and powerful enough for a decent shower and even shampoo and body wash supplied...this place had everything you need for any one staying ideal for c2c groups...very very clean.
plenty of room outside to pitch up a few tents too...the scenery is beautiful.
The pub is not too far away...which provide nice home cooked meals.
Shayne and Iain are very accommodating and nothing is too much to ask...I highly recommend this place to all...we will be back again...no doubt about it!!!
