Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice camp beautiful caravan but woken up at 5.45am on Friday morning and Monday morning by the very noisey bin men not a very good idea when people are on holiday trying to relax. So if you want a lie in at the weekend don’t book a caravan up the top end by the bridge

NEVER, EVER have I experienced such a place. We returned to the area after many, many years for a bit of nostalgia. Wow, what a mistake. So firstly everyone calls Rhyl a dump - it's not!! Rhyl has had a lot of money spent on it and is rather quite pleasant. I think when people say it's a dump, they're actually referring to Towyn and then it's a true statement. It was so horrendously bad that I feel begrudged to spend any time writing about it but if I can put at least one person off then it's worth it. Winkups caravan park is right opposite, THE FAIR. There's nothing more pleasant than trying to enjoy a coffee on the balcony whilst the most explicit and racist music is booming on the fair where young children are. I don't mean chart music I mean music they can't play because it so bad but the fair operators think it's appropriate. Then you hair the odd worker on the rides tannoy pipe up with ladies hold your t!ts in its gonna get wild - really?!!! Anyway back to Winkups. The caravans are literally packed in like sardines making it feel more like an undesirable camp than a holiday park. Whilst most of the park was clean and tidy there were areas which were filthy and full of litter. The park management doing nothing to hide the bin area, it is, well, just there for all to see at the back. The club house was appalling, the language and behaviour was a disgrace and totally unchallenged. We literally witnessed a women change her child's nappy and then threw it at someone (she must have know them) on another table where they were eating. This was seen by staff and they just laughed. This by the way is a park who encouraged you to view and buy caravans at c.£50+ k excluding ground rent - they're having a laugh. The security..well I'm glad they weren't needed for an emergency because both were by the doors drinking pints and smoking. Not the most professional looking. I'm sure reading this will think I'm being a snob! Far from it! The place was a hell hole and yet, laughably this is meant to be one of the nicer parks hahaha. Never, ever again. The only thing right for this park is a major gust of wind and some big waves!

Booked a carvan her for 4 nights (mon-fri) had a lovely time apart from the weather. the site is well equipped but not too big, has good bar and amusements area and a small indoor pool. There was a small mini market but we never used this. There is a kids playground with plenty swing and climbing frames to keep kids busy and also access to beach via railway bridge. The kids' entertainment was good in the evenings along with cash bingo.

The entertainment is absolutely awful only a certain amount of staff interact with the children and actually know the dances. One girl always had a face on her like she doesn’t want to be there and doesn’t know any of the dances. The chippy is disgusting chips were hard as rocks. If your looking for entertainment I wouldn’t recommend

Site is the best location in Towyn. Everything you need on your door step. Swimming pool could do with an upgrade also the changing rooms. Other than that brilliant caravan park, perfect for families.

The best one by far. We’ve just got back from an amazing stay at winkups the staff was friendly good entertainment. David and Clyde on the entertainment team was absolutely amazing with the kids and adults there comic timing is amazing they are like a little ant and dec of the park. I used to work as an entertainer so I know how hard it can be but they have made our stay the best. The bar was reasonably priced for a holiday park. The camp was clean and was in a perfect location. Hoping David and Clyde is back next year as we will definitely be returning once again. Hope they both get the credit they deserve they put life into the entertainment department. They are what lyons needs on all their parks. Can’t wait to return once more.

Hired a private caravan at the end of the park thinking noise level would be down but a big fat NOPE. Noise from other people in the caravans was shocking, our first night it sounded like a rave was happening. Also there is a trainline that has trains going past every half hour until around 11:30pm, it was impossible to get to sleep. Our little one is so grumpy because of being tired and so out of sink from not being able to settle. We were paid to stay on the site until saturday but we actually packed up and left today. The entertainment was shocking, the entertainment staff just stood around like lost lambs while kids ran riot. They did about 15min of dancing with kids later in the eveninh but the entertainment staff did not interact well with the kids at all, lyons really need to rethink on if they should even bother. The spar shop was pretty empty on our first day, couldnt get basic stuff so ended up driving to the small asda down the road a d didnt bother going back into the spar. We have used Haven the last two of our caravan holidays but thought we would give another chain a try but we were so wrong and wont be making the same mistake twice. If you want scenery, friendly staff, pieceful enviroment, decent shop on site, washing facilities and a decent pool then DO NOT book this site.
