Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

All aspects of the stay were excellent. From the welcome - to the rooms, to the little touches such as home made vissino and tsipouro in the room. The host and staff are all very friendly and providing for the guests needs. Mr Edward gave us some great recommendations for days out from his encyclopaedic knowledge of the area (and his tips on how to not get lost!) - and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

We came here in August last year and I’ve began to dream about going again this year. The location is superb, the staff and rooms were amazing and Eduard and his wife were brilliant hosts. I spent a lot of time in and around the pool and it was really beautiful, clean and quiet. There are a few places within walking distance were you can get food and coffee (we tried Pileas and Anna Na Ena Milo and they were great). Can't wait to go back again to Xelidonakia and Pinakates ♥

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house and village. The house and rooms have been very carefully restored so that you can enjoy the authentic charm of a traditional old house in comfort. Edward and his wife are charming and informative hosts. Edward was very kind to us and his wife cooked wonderful breakfasts. We will definitely return.

We are a family of 5 (3 teenagers 13, 14 and 16)and Edward made us feel very welcome and 100% at home from the moment we arrived until we left. The hotel itself is an old mansion that he has rebuild and has cleverly retained all of its old charm. The rooms are comfortable with fantastic modern ensuite bathrooms which include amazing power showers... just what you need after a long day hiking around the beautiful countryside. The mansion is just a 1 minute walk from the main square with a great taverna, running spring and glorious church. The upstairs sitting room is setup in the ottoman style with cushion seats near the windows which offer wonderful views down the valley. It is also a great place to sit and relax on the cool autumn evenings and play cards or backgammon. Breakfast was a large variety of treats and more than you could wish for. Be prepared to be woken up in the morning with a lovely dawn chorus of the birds and chickens in the village. Pinakates is the first of the quaint villages (and probably the least touristy) on the road to Tsagarada. We only came for a long weekend and were all sorry to be leaving. We will definately be back in the spring! Thank you Edward for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

We spent two nights in this beautifully restored traditional stone house in Pinakates. We have had the good fortune to stay in some wonderful places during our three week tour of Northern Greece but we all agreed that" The Little Swallows" topped them all! An amazing guest house with a lovely host. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer.

Visiting Pelion this place is just perfect, so nice hosts all so clean they really take care of everything you can feel queen or king especially at the breakfast welcome. A very rich breakfast also eith traditional home made things. The owner can tell you a lot of history is you wish, can recommend nice spots and things to do in the area. During summer after a day trip you can relax enjoying the sun going down at the swimming pool. A very big relaxing living room, spaceful rooms and even in the bathroom all products in the shower even hair conditioner. Also you can walk to the villages around. For us just a fantastic place with an interested past.... certainly going back !

This may sound an exaggeration but we have never come across such generous hosts who give of their time and cake in abundance. Ward is a mine of information and we still have some of his handwritten directions and recommendations which in a remote area were incredibly useful. He goes out of his way to help all his guests feel happy and to enable them to see the places they love and have made their home. The rooms are very comfortable and breakfast is fab. It is a beautiful area and this is a very special place to stay.

Lovely mr Eduard with his wife moved to Pinakates 17yrs ago, they bought this 19th century house and converted it with respect to local architecture and tradition into this gem of a guesthouse! Keen to help and share his knowledge of the area mr Eduard is always happy help with any queries. Massive highlight, the breakfast which is conveniently served until 11 o’clock - truly super tasty, it will satisfy all tastes! Could not recommend “ta helidonakia” enough! Loved it!

We thought we had seen everything, but this was the summum of hospitality. Wies and Ward are known in the neighbourhood by all the locals. They spoil their guests from the morning till the evening. You can ask them anything, from addresses to eat to problems with your car. Quiet and luxurious place in an astonishing environment. Plentiful and home made breakfast buffet. A place never to forget, but to come back!
