Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

Great Service here! The doormen are amazing. They know the city like the back of their hand. They make sure you are going to safe areas and if not advise you how and when to go or other options instead.

The hotel is located in the Chicago loop area but off the busy dyreeets such as State or Michigan. Transportation is nearby. Restaurants are plentiful. The main library is in walking distance. An adequate exercise room is on the premises. There is no pool or lounge area/lobby.

Clean, safe, great location. Staff amazingly friendly and helpful. Hotel older but remodeled with great bedding and towels. Fridge and microwave, free coffee and paper in am. Fitness room with great views. Walk everywhere in the loop and close to bus and el. Near art institute and in printers row district so lots of cute and less expensive neighborhood shops and restaurants

Check in was fine. The staff was polite and helpful. The floor we were on and the floor our relatives were on was like a half floor. That is the elevator took us, in our case, to the 2nd floor but then there was like a half flight of steps to our room's floor. Making it like 2 and 1/2 floors. Our relatives had the same issue on a higher floor. The bellhop took our luggage up. However, we were leaving early so no bellhop on duty plus no luggage carts (they only had one working and it was being used). We had to carry our luggage down the several steps then take the elevator to the first floor, leave the luggage while we went back up to our room for the remainder luggage. I am 70 but thank the good Lord I am in pretty good shape so I just said I needed the exercise. I felt one working cart was not acceptable for a hotel of this price and size. The heating/cooling was difficult to figure out and did not always work as it should. Refrigerator was good. The electrical outlets were misplaced. There were two duplex outlets in the bathroom, two on the wall beside the bed plus a clock with two on the same side of the bed. There were none on the other side of the bed for my CPAP but my wife had plenty of options for her CPAP. I carry an extension cord so I made it work. They need a better desk lamp and a good reading lamp by the nice, comfortable chair. Many hotels are going to the "open" shower which I strongly dislike. It gets the floor wet and makes the shower drafty. There were 3 sets of towels which was GREAT for our one king bed room. This is appreciated. Maid service was GREAT. The bed was comfortable. There were ear plugs beside the bed. We did not use them but some may want to as there can be a lot of street noise. We were facing the street but still did not have any issues with noise. There is a good place to eat next to the hotel; you do not have to go outside. However, it closes at 3 or 4 so evening meals are off site but in Chicago there are plenty of good places to eat not far away so no problem. I personally hate required valet parking but it is what it is in a downtown hotel so I had to suck it up and pay $55 per night plus a tip for parking which I think is a bit high but I don't valet unless required. We would stay there again.

Very good quality and service. We enjoyed our stay here. Bellman customer service and responsiveness by Greg was spot on. Easy access to Michigan Avenue and Printers Row. Beds were comfortable and views to the Willis Tower were excellent. We would highly recommend this property.

Many of the older comments talk about ear plugs being provided. We had no ear plugs and spent the first night listening to a large truck beeping at a smaller vehicle from about 1:30 am to 2:30 am. Given we already had a problem with the room being cold and no- one in the building knowing how to work the half broken thermostat we didn't even consider asking- for ear plugs. If you are a Blue49447891 49447891green Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Oh daughter of Zion, The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Being the brightness of his glory, and THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON, By whom all things were created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible: all things were created BY HIM, and FOR HIM: I am the LORD; and there is none else. I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. The day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, UNTO OBEDIENCE, Being BORN AGAIN, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, AND have been all made to drink into one Spirit, Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Jesus cried and said, I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, Ye are the light of the world. Ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, THAT WALKETH IN DARKNESS, AND HATH NO LIGHT? let him trust IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, and stay upon his God. For THERE IS NONE OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. In returning and rest shall ye be saved; Repent, and be baptized every one of you IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. For ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: For unto every one of US is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. For ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; And ye shall be witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath ONE that judgeth him: the Word that I have spoken, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE him in the last day. Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.owner as we are- be aware that the Blake is now owned by BlueGreen and you have a right to expect the quality of a Blue Green property including heat and clean furniture. So my question Blue Green. Is how come the questions or comments go from getting a good view to getting heat in your room- forget the earplugs and Starbucks coffee. The Rishi tea is also gone-replaced by cheap no- taste tea. What a shame.
I don’t even know what this is. Are you reviewing a hotel or a revival?

Does this hotel offer military rate/ discount?
This is not a big chain of hotels( e.g. Hilton etc.), however they offer some corporate discount. I would call them directly and ask before proceeding with your booking.

If you can take the train ( Blue Line) would be the fastest option. However took us only half an hour when we arrive, however it was an hour and half in solid traffic on the way back to the airport when we left. For the United Center the Hotel Blake is very convenient, it was 10 min by taxi with light city traffic.

Walk north up State Street or Michigan Avenue to the Chicago River Walk (at Wacker Drive). Jump on a river excursion boat. Maybe get them up to Navy Pier from there and ride the giant ferris wheel. Catch a cab or Uber back.

There are many restaurants within walking distance and the helpful staff can certainly recommend someplace. I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with the convention center.
