This was the first time that I've stayed at a Fairfield Inn and I would stay here again. Had a King room, while not huge, the space is organized well. Very clean and comfortable. Our room was facing north on the 9th floor, noise was...More

We could not have asked for a better location to stay in Chicago for the first time. About a 10-15 minute walk from all of the places we wanted to see (Millennium Park, Navy Pier, river boat tours, etc.).
The staff was super friendly and...More

The staff was helpful and friendly from beginning of a two-night stay to the end. They provided directions, got us cabs and greeted us warmly in the breakfast area. The two-queen room on the 12th floor was spacious, particularly for a downtown hotel, and well...More

I am very disappointed in this hotel and in Marriott. I booked this hotel for my son to visit Chicago over this holiday weekend, and I specifically phoned and asked whether he could charge his stay on my credit card on file and not have...More

The location was great, all the staff I came in contact with were helpful and friendly, especially the two in the breakfast area. The food was good, I liked that they had fresh pineapples everyday when I was there. The room was very comfortable. There...More

It is 1.3 miles from The Fairfield, Illinois St. to Navy Pier. It is a bit of a hike, or you could call Uber. A driver is likely to be within 5 minutes away. For restaurants, your best bet would be to search online. We dined at Harry Carey's ( steak & seafood) and Cantina Laredo (upscale Mexican); both were excellent. There are many "must see" sights in Chicago. The Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Art Institute, Field Museum and Museum of Science and Industry are all outstanding. Pick one or two of them. Enjoy your visit.

If you don't mind a 15-25minute walk up along side the river then up a few blocks.
An uber is only around $7-$10 for that ride so probably easiest if you are new to the city and just getting your bearings.
