I would not choose to stay at this hotel again. For one, it's clearly and old building that has had cosmetic upgrades to make it look modern. Unfortunately, things like the air conditioning barely work well enough to keep the room at a livable temperature...More
My trip to Chicago was bittersweet, as I was both attending a family memorial service and visiting friends. Staying at the Public was the perfect choice: quiet location, perfectly clean and minimalistic rooms, gorgeous building and architecture, central locale, and fabulous bar/restaurant amenities (Pump Room)....More

I apologize for your recent experience. Our Loft rooms are two categories higher than our Superior king rooms, more spacious and are considered a junior suite. We do take a $100 incidental hold per night that is released upon checkout. Nonetheless, we never want...More

In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The

They decided to take a taxi, it was total gridlock. We tried shorts cuts that were just speed bumps galore. Lost a few hours of our weekend+money!
I'd go uber only if traffic was known to be quiet. Taxi as a last resort. Provided it's a decent (safer) time of day I'd always use the train. Besides the walk through Gold Coast area to the public is a pleasant one!
