We were travelling in Ireland and were staying the first three nights in Westport at the Buckfield Inn (fabulous!). As were getting ready to depart, the outstanding hostess, Carmel, suggested a stay at Kilronan Castle. What a great recommendation. The drive up to the castle is awesome. Beautiful setting overlooking a wonderful lake that you can walk around. The staff...

What can I say except I can't wait to go back. The castle is stunning, our room was lovely and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The food was excellent, amazing the seafood chowder was the best I've ever had, the staff where very friendly, helpful and professional. The cost, amazing value for money on their weekend...

From the moment we drove up the driveway to the castle we were in awe and it continued for 24 hours. This castle to me is worth 10 stars. Our suite was superb with a huge 2 poster bed and a bathroom with a clawfoot bath, views and a heated floor. There was a coffee machine and a large screen...

Pros: Original castle is beautiful from the outside but even better from the inside. It really feels like a castle. Staff are friendly. The room rates are well worth it! There is a pool downstairs that is free but you must bring your own swimming caps (or pay 3.5 euro for one at the desk). There are things for the...

Great appearance as you drive up the entry road. Rooms are fine and quite large with the usual good amenities and facilities. Restaurant is also impressive and the food is very tasty and there is plenty of it. Good walking tracks and a pleasant place to have a good break. The gym and the pool don't quite meet the same...

I bought a voucher for my boyfiend for a one night stay - we stayed here at the end of march. It was mothers day and the place was crowded yet the dungeon bar wasnt opened. We opted to eat in the bar but as there was no tables we sat outside in the large open area. We ended up...

We attended a wedding at the castle this weekend. Lovely location for a wedding. The room and the food lived up to expectation. A great party made up for the glitches during our stay. On the negative side you have to wait a good while for the water to get hot in the shower, afternoon tea was very disappointing and...

This was our second stop on our tour of Ireland's castles. We spent two nights here and really enjoyed our stay. We had a very nice room on the third floor. Our first night after adventuring in to Sligo we stopped at the bar for a half pint of Guinness. My daughter-in-law and I both decided that Guinness is not...

Only went for a spa day but it was perfect. The hotel itself is a little bit out from any town so probably best to have a car. The service was exceptional we were greeted upon arrival and shown around. The faculties are amazing and the thermal suite is perfect. Had afternoon tea in the library after and managed to...
