I stayed here March 17th and 18th. The hotel was not decorated for St.Patricks Day at all so that was disappointing. Our previous hotel, Dromoland Castle was tastefully decorated and actually celebrated their national Holiday. There was wedding after wedding after wedding at this hotel. Everything was about the weddings so I guess if you like watching other people's weddings...

Fabulous location for a hotel with beautiful lakeside views of the Roscommon countryside. The older castle part of the hotel has great character. The bar is intimate and very cosy on an early spring day with comfortable leather chairs and an fire in the feature fireplace. The meal we had in the restaurant was of a very high standard, as...

Only downfall of room was searing heat (even with air con). Excellent pool. €15 to use thermal suite a bit excessive for guests. Excellent food in court room area (young staff could be a...

This really is the perfect place to come for a short getaway. The grounds are lovely for walking and the castle itself is very picturesque with lots of lovely features. The staff are unbelievable... I don't think we have ever stayed anywhere where the staff were as friendly and helpful. From reception (in particular Sarah), to the spa, to the...
