The prices are crazy expensive for Southern Illinois. $4.50 for a can of beer is expected in Chicago but not in So Il. The owners/management is very rude, also. The pizza is average and over priced as well. Overall not a welcoming environment unless you liked to be treated poorly.

I attended a wedding at the Egyptian Hills Resort this past weekend. While it was a beautiful place to have a wedding, the staff was unimpressive and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. At the end of the night, Micah (owener/management) had the BRIDE in TEARS - confronting her on the dance floor about an issue that occurred at the cabins. There was a... More

I've been going here now for 2 years and this resort never disappoints. My friend owns a cabin here and a boat so we love to spend time here. The resort always has something going on to entertain people and their service within the resort is very friendly too. I recommend this as a great place to pass the time... More

This place once was a friendly resort. New owners think they are on Lake of the Ozarks or even better. Unfriendly and unresponsive manager/owner. Hardly any parking and accommodations sup par. If you are looking for a hillbilly wedding or event this is your place. Forget about launching your boat, ramp stinks and trailer parking is a pain.

Brad, We understand that raising the rates for the boat ramp has upset some of our neighbors, but as we continue to grow and improve the resort we are forced to make some difficult decisions. Unfortunately, parking is a major issue for us and as our event business continues to grow it has become more and more difficult to accommodate... More

My now wife and I knew we wanted to get married outside. We could not decide on a venue until we attended a wedding at Egyptian Hills. From that moment we know this was our place, so we booked it. From the start the staff was fantastic, helping us with every problem and concern. We also had a planner help... More

Very difficult venue to plan with. Manager does not return phone calls or keep appointments to meet with you. Not ready for Happy Hour, ran out of steaks although order had been placed. A band had been cancelled due to weather, management had not told me there was going to be a concert in same location as our reunion. If... More

We just returned from Egyptian Hills Resort. We stayed for a week in cabin 5. The resort is very nice and clean. The cabin was a little small, but it was very comfortable and did not need any more room. Had everything you needed and was very clean. There was a man made stream that runs in-between the cabins which... More

We shared the double chalet with our friends for Labor Day weekend. 4 adults and 5 kids. What a wonderful place. The cabins were clean, comfortable and stocked with everything we would need. If we ran out of something, they were available to get us more. The deck was very large. We spent a lot of time on it. It... More

My family and I just returned from a three day, two night stay down there. There were 11 of us, 9 adults and 2 kids. My husband and I took our three teenage boys to this resort for a family vacation. I wanted something more relaxing than our other vacations which included a pretty hefty itinerary. We arrived on a Friday evening for check-in. The owner, Micah, was very pleasant and friendly and the check-in was a breeze. He walked us to our cabin which... More
