Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for almost 3 months and I can say nothing but good things! The room was clean, the mattress amazing, the pillows fluffy, the reception staff always super friendly, the cleaning staff very professional and friendly, the 24/7 laundry room being well taken care of, the breakfast room well stacked at breakfast time and clean at all times. When we needed to change towels between housekeeping dates, or needed more garbage bags, etc., we could do so at the reception very easily. I felt well being taken care of and safe while my husband was on business trips during our stay. The full kitchen is fantastic, even an oven with the cooking range and a full refrigerator with freezer on top. We were able to really make this room our home while between 2 homes, waiting for our new home :-) There is a Target and some shops & food places only 20 minutes walk away, and I loved to go to the nearby Aquatic Center several times a week. We would come back any time!

Each stay has been better than the last. The new manager, Theresa, is just what this place needed, even tho Mark and Dayanne have always been nothing short of fantastic. Great housekeepers, responsive and positive front desk, quick maintenance turnaround. Always enjoy coming here. There's two properties next to each other and this location just feels like home. The aesthetic is a little bland but somehow comforting Full kitchen (with Oven!), nice seating area with couch, outdoor grills and decent views so all you really need to bring is yourself. .

First, Priceline’s ad said there’s a pool. There’s no pool. They have a grill area, but there were people smoking out there so we never went out there. The hotel room was basic but dirty. When we unfolded the sofa bed, there was a used tissue in the bed. There were hairs on the towels that didn’t belong to either of us. The kitchenette sink leaked. The modem went down while we were there so there was no Wi-Fi. If you wanted more than the basic Wi-Fi, you had to pay anyway. They said, “If you need faster Wi-Fi, pay $X.XX”. I wasn’t about to pay extra for internet so it was slow. Also, while we were packing up, the fire alarm went off. They claimed they accidentally set it off while testing it. The stairwell always smelled of pet urine. The phones never worked. We arrived to barely any toilet paper, and we were told to come to the desk if we needed anything additional.

This was my worst experience with a hotel ever. Got a few rooms through Hotwire for my family for a graduation and was stuck with this hotel. We arrived a little early and the lady at the front, Sky, wouldn't let us check in early. Fine I get it but she wouldn't let us use the bathroom after a 6 hour long road trip. I had 2 children with me under 6 years old and she still wouldn't let them use the restroom. I don't understand why when she knew we were going to be staying at the hotel. Check in time rolls around and she wouldn't let us check in because we didn't have the original credit card with us because my wallet was stolen. I didn't have that card. She checked my ID and knew it was me but refused to let us stay. So we have rooms we already paid for (Hotwire makes you pay right when you book) and couldn't stay there. I called Hotwire and they were very helpful. The agent I spoke to understood and said he would call the hotel so we could get a refund. 10 minutes later, the agent tells me to go inside and they have keys for us. We go inside and Sky hands us the keys and doesn't say 1 word to us. There was no remorse on her face, she obviously gives no F's about anyone in life. In a decent hotel, when they hand you the keys, they ask if you've been here before, tell you the breakfast time and inform you of everything else. She is the worst. She also gave us 1 key to each room. Who does this when there are multiple adults? It was so awful dealing with Sky that we waited until there a different person to help us get more keys. We ran out of toilet paper after a few days and my mom goes to the front desk and guess who's there?!? SKY. She tells my mom, "I can only give you 1"... ok lady, do you think she's trying to go shopping for toilet paper at this hotel?!?? I don't know what is going on with Sky, but she needs to get out of customer service because she isn't helping anyone, literally. This hotel is is going downhill and Sky is definitely making it go faster down that hill. You would think they would put a friendly person at the front desk since it is the first person any guest interacts with. Oh and to top off my stay, my 5 year old found an empty bottle of lube in the couch 🤢🤢🤢 so it's definitely not clean. Definitely DO NOT recommend this hotel. Just pay a little more and go stay somewhere else where the staff remotely cares about humans.

The Extended Stay Deluxe (South) Building & the North Building are horrible. The manager and the assistant managers do not care about the guest or your pets that you bring. It’s all about the numbers with them. The new main Manager & The everyday manager David are unprofessional. Investigative news stations need to really do a piece on this place! Charging guest incorrectly, marijuana smoking inside and outside in the parking lots are welcomed, because the manager David does not evict those guest. The odor was at the front desk counter and still claim he did not smell it! Parking is horrible and the grounds are subpar. Inside stairs and floors are dirty and the doors are constantly broken. No security here whatsoever! Do not stay here. Pay more somewhere else, and sleep comfortably.

First off I would like to commend the front desk staff David, Maggie, Kim, Sharon, and especially Kristin for their great service during my stay. Their hospitality was very consistent with the ESA mission statement. I would have loved to give 5 stars, however, I was there for a month and my room was serviced only once. Not a huge deal because I clean up well behind myself. I really would have liked a vacuum and mopping at least twice in the month I was there. Overall, the hotel is very laid back and not a great deal of foot traffic which was great for me as I worked nights. The laundry facility was very convenient and the park across the street was very nice. I would stay again.

Don’t do it. After a long haul flight there is nothing more frustrating than watching a bedbug crawl in front of you on the bed you’re about to sleep on. I recorded it crawling across the comforter. The gentleman at the front desk apologized and switched me to another room that was just as gross. There were stains all over the bed and hair on the sheets. This place should be shut down. It’s 2019, how on earth is a place like this still operating? Long story short, I’m forced to sleep in the desk chair and lay my head on the desk table. PLEASE don’t stay here you’ll only end up disappointed.

On arrival to Chicago, after a long-haul flight, we headed to the fine Extended Stay America - Chicago - O'Hare - Allstate Arena hotel, only to find out that the hotel was full and our group of 6 had no room. They conveniently cancelled the room while we were in the air. The hotel was apparently full and was overbooked. Instead of helping out, the front desk just said they had notified us, tried to call and there was nothing they could do. Sh*thole of a hotel and the first time we encounter this kind of behaviour. We were fine in the end, but what was surprising is that the hotel staff did not care at all - stay away.

Lazy housekeepers who only work at a very limited time. 1. I paid for weekly housekeeping, I understand ESA only servers the room once a week, but during my 30 days stay, they only cleaned my room once. 2. I keep calling the front desk but they are unable to help me, they can't even locate the housekeeper. Overall, I don't know how much they are paying for the maids but this is unacceptable! If they can't even make the 3 times cleaning out of 30 days, then I have no faith of the future of this ESA. STAY AWAY!
