Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not at all good. 3 trips to get a key that worked. TV would not allow HDMI connection or phone/tablet mirroring. I had to go down again to report this to reception. I was told that "They do not work" I asked why they were there and publicised on the website if they didnt work, and I was told that "some of them work and some don't". I asked if the one in my room c uld be repaired and I was rold "no". I asked why not and was told "because it is a very low priority". Clearly it was a very low priority for Premier Inn, but it was actually a key factor for my overnight stay as we had planned to watch movies and instead had to listen to the radio for the evening! The room was far too hot. The heating control unit did not work. I went down again to reception and was told by the same unhelpful lady that the way to get the room cool was to open the windows!!!. She didn't seem to care that the control unit didnt work, no doubt it was too low a priority for her. The windows only opened a little way so we overheated, and by morning the room was even hotter. Basic stuff done shoddily, and poor customer support badly compromised this trip!

Room spotless, mattress amazing Staff helpful and very pleasant. Could do with somewhere on site for breakfast as had to get up and go out, although there are many places within ten minutes walk including “Wish you were here” a seaside front restaurant doing amazing breakfast.

This is about our 4th stay here. Great hotel right opposite the beach. Staff are amazing as always. Always available and happy to help. Nothing too much trouble. We had lovely chocolates left in our room for us which was a lovely surprise. Will definitely return

Room was clean and staff helpful and friendly, had go over to the Toby Carvery for breakfast and other meals as there was no restaurant facilities at this hotel. The only downside was we were on ground floor, had a family with young kids above so was a bit noisy. Did not complain as we were only staying 2 nights

We stayed here as the hotel we normally stay in down the road was full, and I must say it was most wonderful. It is set back a little off of the road so it was very quiet and peaceful. The area is out of season which means dining can sometimes be an issue, this hotel has a Toby carvery on the same grounds as it which serve basic food both evening and morning. The hotel was very clean and accommodating, which made for a very pleasant well needed rested night. I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed at Thorpe bay premier inn as we was going to the theatre near by. Can not fault a thing. The staff were very happy and helpful, the room was very clean. Exactly what we needed for a night stay. Doesn’t have a restaurant for a premier inn breakfast but there is a Toby carvery next door which do their own breakfast or a brewers fayre within walking distance if you really did want a premier breakfast. We Will definitely be staying here again.

This was our second stay at The Premier Inn Thorpe Bay. The hotel is clean and efficiently run. The staff are friendly, very helpful and appear to enjoy what they do. It has a very large carpark so there was no difficulty in finding a place to park.

Good service, clean room and quiet. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk into Southend Town Centre but regular bus service outside available. Disappointed that breakfast not available although Toby Carvery next door.

Great location on sea front with toby carvery next door Staff friendly and very helpfull Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Was cold and windy outside walking along the sea front so it was nice to come back into a nice warm room. A kettle tea and coffee provided and if you ran out they had plenty at the reception desk which you could help yourself. There is no eating option at this premier Inn but a toby carvery next door has nice food. Plenty of cafe and resturants along the sea front.
