The treehouse was just the right size for our family of four. We wanted for nothing during a weekend packed with hiking and exploring Shawnee. Archery golf was more fun for my son and I than either of us expected. The staff was courteous and...More
The cabin was really nice. We stayed for an anniversary trip without kids and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We will definitely come back this year with the kids, there is plenty of room and I think they will love the cabin as much as...More
Timber Ridge Cabins are a charming stay. The tree houses were full almost three months in advance when I made our reservations. Thus we made Hickory Hollow cabin our home for one night.
It's an Amish-made mini cabin. Although fully air-conditioned downstairs, the loft was...More
The cabin was great, we really loved the piece and quiet. Very clean and spacious, had all the amenities. Hot tub, hammocks, grill, fire pit and more. Perfectly located to see the all the National Forest has to offer.
I am sure we'll be back.

On the day that we drove through the Amish areas (on just the other [Kentucky] side of the car ferry across the Ohio river), it was a Wednesday. We did not see any Amish items for sale. I don't now if there are certain days when sale is more likely. (I know nothing would be sold on a Sunday). Since I knew that Outpost Timber Ridge & Cabins was pretty far from anything (and it really is), we packed a cooler, stopped at Fairfield, IL on our way south, and put our fresh milk, eggs, meat, etc. from there into the cooler to hold until we arrived. Worked out well.
