The whales were the stars of the show - absolutely wonderful. Nothing could surpass that experience. On the side though... Sandy Beach was such a great base. Fabulous setting, lovely people, great food and supremely comfortable accommodation. Not to mention Boris's amazing coconut cocktails, Heidi's hospitality and the encouragment of EJ, Chief and Potello (sorry, not sure of that spelling)...

Having spent some time at Sandy Beach during the off season and loving it so much, we rebooked to experience "swimming with the whales". Off season, we shared the resort with one other couple so were interested to see the difference when booking during full capacity. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the "private paradise" experience was still on...

Visited during Humpback Whale Season. Was able to swim with the whales four of the five days. Great guides and boats. Very very comfortable rooms. Each with its own patio and chairs. And loungers to take down to the beach. Lovely staff and management that works hard to make every wish come true. Great food.

If you want to swim with whales, and I highly recommend it, this is your destination. The Resort is owned and operated by a German family who operate with typical German efficiency. They have their own boats for whale watching, so your package is complete with one stop. The setting is very relaxed, but quite clean and comfortable. Good dinners...

We have had the most amazing holiday!! privacy, peace, tranquility, beauty!! If you want to unwind,re charge and basically opt out of the fast lane for a week or two, Sandy Beach does it all. Snorkelling in clear torquoise waters, you feel you are the only ones leaving footprints in the sand, colourful tropical gardens, and "Swimmimg with the Whales" has been...

Paradise does not even get close to describing our experience. Our Host Boris Stavenow has ticked all the boxes with this wonderful Island, from the moment we arrived until we leave I was mesmerized by the beauty. Our meals were freshly prepared local produce and while this is limited they were delicious. Cabins reasonably basic but comfortable and in complete...

We revisited Tonga just to go to Ha'apai and see the whales after a friend raved about her experience there last year. We had the all-in package - accommodation, meals and whale watching every day all from Sandy Beach. The last day was amazing - 8 whales on a heat run so altogether 10 whales in the water and they...

Stayed here as part of an 11 night whale trip with Majestic Whale Encounters. Beautiful relaxing setting, fantastic beach. Clean unit with comfortable bed. All units face the beach and all with beach access. Food was really good. Put on so much weight eating it all. Great to be able to see humpback whales from the beach. Staff were great...

Their really are no words to say how amazing and wonderful our holiday was. We were looking for a place to go for our honeymoon, and we just happened upon Tonga, and as I was doing my research, I stumbled upon Sandy Beach. I reached out to Peta, and she answered all of our questions, and no question was to...
