We stayed in the Safari suite. It's huge and well appointed. Very comfortable and romantic. Loved the robes and jacuzzi tub. Will definitely return. Only negative is this suite is close to the road so there is some traffic noise through the night.

We stayed in standard room 3. It was very cute and cozy. The location was great for the price as were still close enough to walk (stumble) back. 😁The breakfast was amazing and the service was great! The only down fall is the extremely busy and very noisy road right out front which our room faced. Overall, this place was...

It was lovely and so comfy. Walking distance to all the stores downtown. There was plenty of parking across the street. It was nice the hot tub was open late as we arrived quite late. Getting our keys late was also super easy.

We had stayed here for one night for a local wedding. We liked the place so much, we came back in October for my wife's birthday. Staff was friendly, room was clean, good breakfast. Room was half the price of some of the rooms in downtown Galena. There was no parking in downtown Galena anyway, and it was only 2...

We have stayed at your place many times in the last fifteen years and love it every time ! It's clean and unique. The newly added continental breakfast was a real treat!! We will be back, yours is by far my favorite place to stay in Galena

Nice and close to downtown shops ,1 1/2 blocks easy walking distance! Nice place, not real fancy, but all rooms have gas fireplace, small tv, whirlpool bath and cozy clean rooms. They say they have a continental breakfast, but far exceeds this was lots of homemade breakfast items! Nice patio/balcony areas for sitting and enjoying a beverage. Would stay here...

Love staying here for our annual trip to Galena. All the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast room is casual. Big deck is great for hanging out. Made some new friends there this year and we are all looking forward to staying on the same weekend again next year.

Our suite was very nice and this location is very convenient to shops and restaurants. Amenities were great with wifi, fireplace and jetted tub in room. Very small kitchenette with small fridge, coffee pot and microwave. Will definitely stay here again!

We will definitely be staying again at the Renaissance. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The staff was very friendly. It was just a short walk to downtown Galena. Great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Restoring historic buildings and adapting them for modern use is painstaking work. The properties upon which Renaissance and Riverboat now stand were first acquired by Daniel Smith Harris in 1839. The lots changed hands many times until the Beltram and Weber Buildings were constructed in the 1850's. Over the years they've been held by many parties and served a variety of uses. When we purchased them, both were in disrepair. We decided to restore them and to turn them into accommodations that Galena could be proud of. Our goal is to provide 'a home away from home' for our visitors. We sought to combine three elements; comfort, elegance and a sense of history. You'll experience that "home away from home" feeling in comfortable elegance. Your Hosts, Terry and Victoria Cole ... more   less
