Stopped for food with a group of friends. Garlic mushroom stater was excellent. Pie and mash main course was ok but bland. Mash cold. Tagliatelle was excellent. Service was good. It is worth a visit for food and a drink. Reasonable priced.

We booked the Old Hand Diamond through a friend in the area, but really didn't know the place that well. Overall the experience was fantastic; the staff here were full of character made our stay fun and entertaining. The rooms are clean, well sized, warm and mine has a large TV screen. We ate on both nights, Friday and Saturday...

Nice atmosphere. Fantastic food. Quite a big pub with three rooms. Soup starter and mushroom starter was good. The steak main was beautiful. The pie was massive and very nice as was the lamb on the bed of mash. No room for pudding!

A lovely pub with restaurant whose staff make you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. Great selection of Beers and Sunday lunch is plentiful and reasonably priced - better to book as they get busy. The bar menu during the week is good value with offers on - nothing better than eating beside a real fire.

Second time we have stayed here. Very dog friendly. Can't remember the room number, but it had a double bed, single bed and a settee. B+B rate very reasonable. Room was very clean and spacious. Ensuite shower and toilet. Couldn't fault anything. Had an evening meal and two breakfasts. All to a good standard, and very good value. They do...

Called here for Sunday lunch with family whilst in the area, and was very surprised to see how busy it was considering it's location. When we saw the quality of the carvery it made choosing from the menu a simple matter! After a selection of starters were served by a friendly member of staff, we had a really good selection...

Lovely old pub with a fantastuc home cooked food! I had fillet steak and my husband had the steak and ale pie, both come much recommended! We also had a two year old with us, they don't have a children's menu as such but do make smaller portions of the main menu if requested
