First time here at strawberryfield park with my girlfriend and we had the most fantastic 7 days! This was a present for my girlfriends birthday and it certainly did not disappoint. The way the world is at the moment this was the perfect location to get away from it all.

We stayed in the orchard lodge, very modern, spacious and very well designed, even the welcome pack of biscuits, tea, milk and coffee were a lovely touch. The views from our hot-tub were amazing, great views of the mountains on one side and the sunset on the other.

Strawberryfield park is in the perfect location, you get amazing views right on your doorstep with such peace and quiet and you’re only a short drive away from cheddar village which is full of things to do.

There is some brilliant small local business close by. Cobbs of cheddar for our fresh meat and warrens farm shop for our fresh fruit. The Italian restaurant ‘La Rocca’ is certainly worth a visit, amazing food!

There is lots of things to do, before the lockdown we visited Cheddar Gorge and Cheddar reservoir which are very close by and we also went to Royal Victoria park Botanical gardens which is further away but certainly worth it.

A certain special mention to Mike. With the lockdown being talked about he was in constant contact with me about our trip and made me feel very at ease. I was glad at the very end of the trip I got to put a face to the name when he wished us a safe trip home, you and your team are all very kind and welcoming, that is one of the main reasons while we will be back again soon.

Thank you to strawberryfield park for such an amazing experience. We will see you again soon.

Great lodge, family (and dog) friendly. Comfortable, with all of the kitchen amenities you could need. A side note for the owners, a couple of welcome items/supplies would be welcomed in the kitchen, we’ve received this before at other similar resorts (milk & butter, etc.) and it really helps when you’ve travelled, although understandably not essential.

Hot tub and deck were a lovely space to spend some time in the sun. Beds comfortable, cot bed supplied for our toddler was nice quality and spacious. Sainsbury’s 5 mins down the road was really helpful for supplies. Plenty of grassed area including a small communal seating area at the bottom of the hill which is perfect for letting your well-behaved dog off lead for a toilet stop.

Couple of downsides to our lodge (and I’m sure this does not reflect all of them but ours is one of the oldest lodges at the entrance to the site), I would not book ‘The Sleights’ again simply because it needed some TLC. On arrival, there were ants on the kitchen countertops and we went on to realise there were a lot more around the living area. We were provided a can of Raid but no more was done and no real apology. This was a little off-putting and it dulled the sparkle of our arrival, which was a real shame as we arrived on my 30th birthday and the stay was booked as a surprise by my husband. The ants have been present in the main living space for the whole stay and the decking is also covered in them, so perhaps a wider problem. The second bathroom in the twin room smells absolutely fowl, it must be a problem with the drains but it was stomach churning. Also, the positioning of The Sleights is adjacent to the cider barn which has live music until late, so not ideal with small children.

We would probably return to Strawberryfield Park if we wanted to visit the area again but certainly not to the same lodge (the few negatives above unfortunately did not make for a very relaxing/luxury stay). Good facilities though and stunning scenery nearby, including the many beaches, the gorge and Wells in particular was worth a visit. Just beautiful!

Thank you for your review and feedback and please accept our apologies regarding the delay in response on TripAdvispor, we have only just manged to gain access to respond to reviews. We are sorry there were some issues that dulled the sparkle of your stay a little. I know we cant change that for you now but thought I would update you on a few things that we have done... We offer a complimentary starter pack for guest arrivals that includes milk, bin bags, loo roll, dishwasher tabs etc. We also have breakfast and welcome hampers that can be added on as an extra at booking. Ants can sometimes become a problem at certain times as we are so rural and although we now have several preventatives in place, they do spring up and surprise us sometimes. Apologies that you felt this wasn't dealt with very well at the time. The issue of the drains was dealt with right away, once again please accept our apologies. The sleights is one of the closest lodges to the cider barn which some guests love but it is not ideal for others, especially with small children when they have live music on. We have a site map on the website now to show lodge placement so guests can gain a better perspective before arrival and we will look into making it more clear on the individual lodge page as well. We work hard to keep our 5* standard and would love the opportunity to welcome you back and give you a wonderful stay.

We stopped off here to break a long journey and explore the area.
Arriving late at night the Lodge was such a welcome sight desperate for tea... and milk was in the fridge Thankyou.
Along with this welcome gesture, bottled water for each guest, coffee with coffee maker and tea bags, and a bottle of wine!!
Bedrooms and bathrooms superbly appointed with towels robes, slippers, toiletries, and all with lots of natural light. Such titbits normally found in five star hotels.
The open plan living/dining/kitchen really great for actively moving around and staying connected, full of natural light.
The wrap round deck with outdoor seating and private hot tub easy to access from the main room.
Car parking beside the Lodge.
A quality small select park in superb countryside.
Nearby pretty villages, plus Wells, Cheddar, Axbridge loads of historical sites, walking routes and bike routes.
We really packed in some exploring in two days but sufficiently tempted to return not only to the area but this superb Lodge.
One suggestion might be a light on a sign at the turn into the park easing location in darkness.
Without exception every one we encountered locally were helpful, kind and welcoming.
Well done Somerset.👍

We stayed in Deer Leap this time. A one bed lodge on a quiet site with plenty of ameneties in the area to enjoy. The lodge is very comfortable and private with very good facilities including a hot tub on the patio decking area. Cheddar is a few miles away and Wells a little further - Wells has a good market on Wednesdays and, of course, it's own cathedral which is definitely worth a visit. Both can be reached by local bus so leave the car behind. Plenty of good pubs and restaurants in the area so no need to cook for yourself. There are a number of other lodges on the site so please take a look for yourself before booking and rest assured you will be looked after while you are there. It is our intention to visit again next year (and that will be our 5th visit).

We have just returned home from a 4 night stay at The orchard lodge, we didn’t want to ever leave! It was incredible.

The lodge is beautifully decorated, it is modern and clean but also really cozy! Comfy bed, stunning bathroom!! The kitchen was really well equipped with all utensils/pans etc.. There was even some milk, all tea/coffee and sugar, salt and pepper and a coffee machine!

The ‘starlit courtyard’ was just beautiful, I haven’t seen this anywhere else, it’s such a lovely touch.

My boyfriend even arranged some ‘30’ balloons for my birthday which they sorted out with no problems!

Everyone we met or spoke to via phone/email were all so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning and trying out some of the other lodges on offer. Thanks for such a lovely stay :)

We have just returned from our first ever visit to Strawberry field park, staying in Perry lodge, and even though the weather was terrible, we had a superb time. We stayed in the time of covid 19 and thankfully on arrival, we found the lodge had been cleaned to a very high standard, making us feel quite safe in our new temporary home. The lodge was very comfortable with high quality fixtures and fittings (large Sony TV and sound bar, Bosch oven and microwave, Webber barbecue) and it definitely felt 5 star accommodation all the way.
We really enjoyed the hot tub, which we used every day, especially enjoying the two sunsets we saw while relaxing in its warm bubbly waters. In fact we loved the place so much we are already planning our next visit, hopefully next year.
So if you are looking for a beautiful lodge, with high spec decor and a hot tub, I highly recommend Strawberry field park!

Stayed in the Perry lodge last week Friday to Friday. On arrival the lodge was spotless with great facilities with high end fittings and furnishings. The information pack was not only useful but the language used was so friendly. Know the rules then go and enjoy yourselves.the hot tub was great slightly sunk into a huge decking area with a variety of patio furniture. The park was very peaceful and very well maintained and in a great location to explore the very beautiful area . Stayed at around 10 sites over the last few years none better than strawberry fields

We had no wifi for the duration of our stay which was really disappointing as I booked this weekend away for us to relax and spend the weekend in doors. We had no phone signal, no wifi and no proper TV channels.

My partner had quite a lot of work to do on Saturday which he was unable to do without wifi....We rung the resort manager and he explained there would be no wifi throughout our stay because of the bad weather.

I also could not get the musical bath to work (one of my reasons for booking this particular room) and there was also no hot water coming out the bath taps when I tried to use it so we couldn't use the bath.

The bed was so uncomfortable, I think there must be a spring poking up, but we had little sleep the whole weekend. On the last night we tried to put the mattress on the floor in the front room to see if this was any better.....Not what I expect to be doing on a 'luxury' weekend away.

I contacted luxury coastal after my holiday to express my disappointment and I was offered a £33 off my next booking....I found this extremely insulting considering my holiday for 3 nights cost me £700.

If you want an honest review, I would NOT pick this place to stay for a 'relaxing' 'luxury' 'comfortable' holiday. instead we couldn't wait to get home and get some proper sleep :(

Strawberryfield park was a lovely treat. Nice get away for my hubby's birthday.
The only downside is it could do with air-conditioning in the rooms. The rooms were ridiculously hot.

Nice lodge fairy big size. Nice layout. Hot tub was a bonus, there was a BBQ and couple of sun loungers.
They have cutlery, plates, pots, pans, and just some advice take your oven glove.
Really enjoyed our stay 🙌

Thank you for your review and feedback. Air Conditioning is something we would love to look into for the future if the summer months continue to be like this year, it has been beautiful! All lodges should have silicone oven mitts, I will pass on to housekeeping to check if they have gone missing, apologies for that. We hope to welcome you back again.

Absolutely fantastic. This is a small site with approx.24 cabins. The owners have thought of everything.Thereis a hottub,BBQ and plenty of decking to sit out and look at the wonderful views of the Mendips.
The cabins are comfortable. The kitchen(a welcome pack of tea/coffee/ milk and a bottle of wine is supplied) has a dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer.The bedrooms are comfortable and hairdryers supplied - a must for the ladies.Wifi is free.Bathrooms clean with waterfall showers.Towels/bathrobes and slippers are proved.
Chedder and the caves are about a 5 minute drive away where you will find a sainsburys to stock up.
There is a bar called Cider Barn at the entrance to the site where you can buy pizzas and beer to take away.
We will definitely go back

Hi there, There is a community shop within walking distance or Cheddar is less than a 5 minute drive for a small Sainsburys (bigger than Sainsburys Local) or Tesco Express. Larger supermarkets can be found in Wells - 15 minutes away or you are more than welcome to get a delivery straight to your lodge. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
