Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This pub/restaurant is excellent value for money, we dropped in last week and loved it so much we went back for Sunday lunch! All the food we had was delicious and portion sizes were very generous. Will definitely go back again.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Generous portions and so delicious. I had Thai seafood curry which had lots of seafood and fish and amazing curry sauce and vegetables and lemon posset was incredible. Friendly staff and great quirky decor. Totally recommend! We loved it! 😊

My wife, my daughter and I had lunch in their beautifully refurbished railway carriage at the rear of the Pub. They had a special lunchtime "Cost of Living" meal deal which was extensive and brilliant value. The food was perfectly cooked and tasty, with large portions, service excellent and surroundings great. The pub itself is full of quirky items and has many different traditional pub games available to play at the tables. Would really recommend a visit. It is always worth us travelling the 15 miles from where we live for the pleasure of eating here.

Very friendly host at The Old Station Inn. We didn't have a chance to go into the pub or eat there as we were only staying for 1 night en route to Cornwall. The room was very comfortable, situated in a block away from the pub. Did not hear any noise from the pub at all. Would recommend, especially for the price.

Very friendly, quirky pub with excellent food. Particularly recommend the lamb shanks. Large portions so only consider three courses if you're very hungry! Great service from Debbie. We loved the railway carriage restaurant and enjoyed ourselves so much we went back again three days later.

Recommend to eat here by the manager of the B&B we were staying in. So glad we did. From the minute we walked in the landlady was so welcoming. Hubby enjoys his cider and a lovely one was recommended to him prior to being taken to our table in the old railway carriage-this was fantastic and it was clear to see how much work had been put into this. A good choice of dishes was on the menu. Don’t expect your usual “pub grub “ here. Choices were fantastic, cooked by the landlord. I can certainly recommend my belly of pork starter! There is also B&B accommodation here but we were staying a little further on. The bar itself is well worth a visit and full of curiosities. A visit is a must.

Rain stopped play on our way back from Devon on our Motorbikes. We were lucky enough to find a room here at The Old Station Inn. Arrived at 8:10pm soking wet in need of a warm clean room and food. We were not disappointed. Food was delicious. Ate in the carriage. Just was we needed. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

We stayed locally and had 2 fabulous meals at the Station Inn. We ate in the carriage and felt we were on the Orient Express. It was cosy romantic and luxurious. The food was excellent. The lamb shank, fish curry and lemon posset were our favourites. The staff are really friendly and service was efficient. We can't recommend it highly enough.

If you fancy something different don't hesitate to stop here. We were staying locally and the Old Station Inn had been recommended so the seven of us dined here for Sunday lunch and we dined in a very plush railway carriage! Staff / owners very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and substantial, certainly the Sunday roast portions are not for the faint hearted. My wife had the Thai Seafood Curry which was beautifully presented and delicious. Nearly forgot to mention the deco which is an eclectic mix of everything railway and more, there is even a 2CV cut in half! If you are in the area make a point of visiting this Inn and you will not be disappointed probably best to book as the Railway Carriage has limited space. Happy to recommend to all.

We booked here for lunch with my parents (4 adults & 2 children) and had a lovely experience. Very friendly service in a very interesting setting. Definitely don't visit if you like minimalist decor! The kids loved spotting so many different items on the ceiling and wherever you looked you saw something new. The food was excellent. I thoroughly recommend the Thai sea food curry but if I was overly critical I'd say the monk fish was slightly over cooked. Portion size is excellent, if anything the kids portions were too large. The profiteroles were a delightfully decadent way to finish off the meal.
