I was traveling from Paris to Bruges to Amsterdam and by the time I arrived at the inn it was rather late (around 9pm). It is a very small place with not many rooms, and I felt very bad about arriving at that hour, but the owners were very understanding and welcoming. I stayed in the black and white room... More

Fantatic B&B near Amsterdam - but away from the hectic and stress of the big city. Great to relax and enjoy the wonderful hospitality offered in the various beautiful theme-rooms. Breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the lake is a dream come true...

Very pretty and quaint B&B in a truly picturesque village. The surrounds are tranquil and idyllic, all whilst being only a short 15 minute drive away from Amsterdam. However, there are many beautiful villages to visit in the area, in particular Monnickendam - which we much preferred to the rather touristy places like Voldendam or Marken. Having a car to... More

Hard to know where to start in describing the joys of this wonderful little hotel. The setting is picture perfect up a brick clad road flanked by beautiful Dutch village houses facing a large lake. The hotel is a beguiling old converted parsonage next to the church but the real joy is inside - beautifully designed bedrooms and communal spaces... More

Travelled by train (Eurostar and Thalys) from London to Amsterdam via Brussels, then caught one of the four local bus services (312, 314, 315, 316) which stop at Broek in Waterland, starting off from the very swish new (2012) bus station which is conveniently located at the back of Amsterdam railway station. So transfer was very easy as was the... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Inn on the Lake. We arrived early in the morning and Pamela gave us a very warm reception, stored our luggage for us and set us up with bus tickets and an itinerary to explore the nearby towns of Volendam and Edam - this helped us with our jetlag (as we had come from... My husband and I visited this hotel last year in December to celebrate his birthday. We were expecting it to be good because it is on the Mr & Mrs Smith's website, but we couldn't have anticipated how perfect our visit would turn out to be!! The Inn is located in the most beautiful place with gorgeous views out over... More

Absolutely gorgeous. Very picturesque. It was a gorgeous village like going back in time. Was just a bus trip away from city centre. Peaceful and quiet a real romantic retreat. The owners were brilliant. Even collected us from the airport. Nothing was to much trouble.

The inn on the lake, what can I say. We arrived early in the hope of dropping our bags off on the Sunday around 12. The rooms are advertised as not being available until 1500, therefore we were very content just to lodge our bags, nothing more. The setting is/was as beautiful as you imagine, perfectly charming! Dear Ian & Tricia, I am sorry that we did not follow up to your expectations. And your stay was not a 5 star experience. However when running a family business (yes that strange man is my husband) it is for us very difficult to find the time to shop, shower, clean and make ourselves representable in the few hours...
