Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

2 adults, a 4yr old and 2 dogs for a week long traditional camping holiday…..considering it’s the height of the summer holidays the site was lovely not too noisy, quiet in the evenings, kids played happily…..very traditional campsite with a small play park and all the fun of the fresh air and outdoors. Facilities were really great and very clean, well stocked shop, lovely friendly staff, good location. One minor issue for my husband was using wheelbarrows to get to and from the pitch with all the stuff in the area we were in added at least an hour on to set up and take down…...but this is a minor issue as the weather was nice hence 4 stars

I’ve stayed at many campsites and found this to be the friendliest, cleanest, most excellent one I’ve been to in a long, long time. The staff were terrific, friendly and welcoming from the get-go. The toilets were always well cleaned, the shop well stocked and the facilities overall meeting all of our needs. I cannot fault the place. We’re definitely going back!

Stayed in lower meadow for two nights. Have to arrive by 7.30pm which is difficult if leaving after work or coming from afar. I think this should be changed to at least 8.30pm. No set pitches. We got space fine but I could see this being difficult dependent on who was camping and how considerable they are with space, or if you were large group coming at the time check-in shut. Firepits etc not included, and even when you did hire this did not include wood / matches etc. It would be good if this was a potential added on bundle to the pitch price or included. Mens toilets / showers seemed clean enough. Womens showers were filthy. Two sinks in the women's didn't work and the other two got dirty very quickly. It felt like the women's bathrooms weren't cleaned /maintained during our two night stay. No plugs available for your own hairdryer / straighteners, and a £1 charge for use of their hairdryer. Opposite the road was an outdoor cinema. I think this was a one off event but it would have been nice to be warned about prior to booking the campsite. It didn't stay on late (finished 10pm) but was very loud for 2.5 hours and definitely disrupted the quiet chilled evening vibe we had hoped for! Location was good - there's a free launch point about a 10 min walk away opposite whitlingham adventures for kayaking down to Norwich. Norfolk snowsports Centre was on the same lane, and just eat/uber eats deliver to site. I wouldn't return because of the state of the women's bathrooms. However, the site itself is nice and quiet (except outdoor cinema nights!) and in a good location.

Our stay was cancelled 3 nights before the stay, due to a booking system glitch! Couldn’t comment on what it’s like as we weren’t allowed to stay. A full refund was given but I think it’s because someone else booked after me for 2 nights instead of 1. This shouldn’t happen and the company should honour the initial booking by not picking and choosing who they want due to taking more money. It’s like being gazumped….I didn’t voluntarily enter a bid. I booked, I planned for it and was let down.

I made booking of my VW camper though Pitchup.com, subsequently sold it & bought motorhome and emailed site to explain vehicle change. They did not reply, but after silence subsequently took my full £77.78 payment. They then told me my motorhome was too big for site. Would not refund the £77. They quoted T&Cs but even they allowed for 50% refund. After me chasing they told me they were contacting Pitchup to make refund. Pitchup said they never did this and in any case refund is direct from Whitlingham. Eventually they refunded just £23.89. No explanation given how that is even 50% of £77.78. Tricky to deal with, they consistently delayed emails if they replied at all and tended to copy their T&Cs into them when they did. It may say something that they are no longer with PitchUp (who were helpful to me getting the paltry £23).

When we first arrived it looked very presentable. We signed in and the gentleman greeted us with a smile. He was told us what we needed to know and he answered are questions without any problems. There was a group of us camping for a friends birthday and we had a great time. We had everything we needed. They even supplied fire fits, which we thought was amazing and kept us cozy at night. Would love to stay again, and definitely will!

Very enjoyable stay with plenty of room to pitch, and friendly atmosphere and staff. Even though it was fully booked on the weekend in question, it didn't feel crowded. Made use of their fire pit rental service and frozen provisions from their little on site shop were very much appreciated given the hot weather. Facilities were clean and presentable and had no trouble accessing all the basics you need for an enjoyable weekend under canvas. Made the most of the site being close to parkland, pubs, walks and waterways. Was chuffed to see a barn owl flying in the field adjacent to the camp site.

We went over the weekend to celebrate my birthday. There were 9 of us and 2 dogs. Everything was clean, there was plenty of space between groups so you didn’t feel crammed in. Despite being small the shop is jam packed with everything you could need and the staff are fab. Facilities are lovely and clean, and I started each day with a hot shower. We will 100% be returning.

We stayed in one of the Shepherd’s huts, and our friends stayed in tents nearby. Great location, friendly staff, great facilities - very clean and with everything you needed (toilets, showers, sinks, hairdryer, mirrors). The hut itself was very quaint and cosy, with a fire pit, bench, and BBQ provided. Would definitely return!

Very friendly and well organised little campsite. Seemed to have everything you need to make it as easy as possible. BBQs/fire pits and wood available, enough space to pitch up and not feel too crowded plus the staff were friendly and helpful. Next time I come I’ll stay in one of your huts/glamming pods as they looked very lovely and I have been assured by a friend the treehouse buildings are gorgeous.
