Nice experience in a proper village pub in the centre of the village. Just swung past for lunch and a pint and was surprised how popular it was on a Wednesday. Good food and beer and they also have accommodation.

Went to this pub today as it is listed as dog friendly. It isn't. In fact the landlord said his dogs would attack any dog that came in. The mans attitude left a lot to be desired. Not dog friendly or people friendly. Needless to say we didn't stay.

Response from Lordoftheinn, Owner at The Swan

This is blatantly not true. We do allow dogs. We have three dogs of our own. We do not expect customers to stroll into our HOME with a strange dogs unannounced. We need an opportunity to remove our dogs from public areas for another dog to enter. On two occasions my dogs have been viciously attacked by strange dogs in their own territory. There is a sign on the door clearly stating do not enter with dogs unannounced. The only place dogs are not permitted is in our restaurant. For your information, You did not speak to the Landlord, that is me, Richard Vellender you spoke to a junior member of staff and on this day when you came in it was Rememberance Sunday We were fully booked and we had NO I repeat NO spare tables for diners or casual drinkers inside the building. I'm sorry but we could not fit anybody in and you had no reservation. So on two counts your review is categorically untrue. We are dog friendly, You did not speak to the landlord. So may I suggest my dear keyboard warrior you get your facts right before making fatuous claims about my business.
