Very special small luxury lodge. Edenhouse is tucked away amongst beautiful gardens. Hosts Peter and Bobbie think of every detail. Evening drinks by the fire or in the garden, and delicious five star meals cooked by international chefs. I stayed in the Cottage, a peaceful , private spot just steps away from the main house. These few days were destroyed...

Dear T3G, Your very kind comments are greatly appreciated, thank you. Our lovely region is often referred to as "Sunny Nelson" so we too were very disappointed when the heaven's opened during your stay. We pride ourselves on providing guests with unique and special experiences so we do hope you will return in sunnier times to enjoy those activities in...

Relax, Art, Gardens, Hospitality +++. Nestled into hills in Motueka, Nelson Tasman area you'll find this charming luxury Lodge. Surrounded by beautiful, well established gardens, it's hard to believe Edenhouse hasn't always been there. Bobby (Designer of house and gardens) and Peter are fabulous hosts. Peter will pull strings to make whatever you want to happen, happen! The house and...

The owners enjoy looking after guests, are superb hosts, and great company. A really lovely visit to Eden House. The food cooked by the Dutch chef was absolutely excellent too, as were the local wines!

Arriving in a rainstorm after taking the ferry from Wellington to Picton we were advised to take the Wairau Valley Road to Edenhouse. Great advice, beautiful even in the rain. Greeted so graciously by Bobby. And then getting upgraded to the Cottage. We settled in the lovely and very comfortable cottage. Dinners and Breakfast couldn't have been any better. Peter...

Just a perfect experience with no exceptions. The location is stunning - the hosts perfect - very friendly efficient and quite welcoming. The food is right up there as some of the best we have had in NZ - reminded us a bit of Louis when he was at Timara Lodge. But Edenhouse had multiple chefs cooking and every dish...

We have been to New Zealand 3 times over the last 7 years. We have stayed at great places like Eagle's Nest, Solitaire Lodge, and Blanket Bay. However, our stay at Edenhouse tops them all. You will not find better hosts in New Zealand than Peter and Bobby. They go way beyond your expectations to make your stay great. The...

This New Years my husband and I went down-under and our stay at Edenhouse is at the top of our list. We were driving the North and South Islands of New Zealand, a small badge of honor driving on the left, and we had taken the ferry from the North island and drove to Nelson. Our hosts Bobby & Peter...

Edenhouse was simply quite, quite beautiful. A house that has been designed to create the calmest environment for guests. French windows that are wide, wide open and allow the fresh air to flow though the house. The views to the gardens and many terraces are stunning. Bobbie and Peter are very relaxed and sociable hosts. The food was delicious - light...

We've been home for two weeks now, and I've been thinking about writing this review......but I've been a bit stumped about how to convey what a special and luxurious experience Edenhouse was for us. I read the 27 reviews that precede mine, because sometimes you have a better/worse/different experience than others and by writing a review you can add some...

Edenhouse is truly the art of hospitality perfected. Owners Bobbie and Peter Martin built and furnished this beautiful home in the Orinoco Valley, Motueka, an easy drive from downtown Nelson. They later on decided to offer two exquisitely decorated guest rooms and a stand alone cottage to guests. But the real gem here is the sincere hospitality offered by Bobbie,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in a serene valley in the heart of rural Nelson, Edenhouse is an overdue reminder of the genuine meaning of luxury. This enchanting luxury lodge, set in fifty acres of private grounds and internationally acclaimed gardens has an enviable location - perfectly positioned between Nelson and The Abel Tasman National Park -- it's surrounded by the activities and experiences in which its guests delight. In the June 2016 edition of The Hideaway Report, Andrew Harper concluded of Edenhouse: "It is always a delight to discover a hideaway that I can unequivocally endorse. Edenhouse is a true gem" and "Hospitality just doesn't get any better than this". The Edenhouse "Harper Rating" of 97 out of 100 is the highest-equal among Mr. Harper's assessments of New Zealand's most exclusive and highly regarded luxury accommodation. Edenhouse is finished and furnished to a very high standard with an emphasis on comfort, relaxation, understated luxury, attention to detail, and fine food and wine. Edenhouse accepts only 6 guests thereby retaining the "small boutique lodge" experience. It comes as no surprise that two prestigious publications, Tatler and The Robb Report, included Edenhouse in their 100 Best Hotels of the World. ... more   less
