This was my second stay at the Van Buren and I highly recommend it. I appreciate the fact that they don't allow pets in the room so I don't have to listen the dogs barking or walk into a room that smells like a dog's been in there. The rooms are extremely clean, roomy and very quiet. Breakfast is your... More

On the positives: A bit less expensive than some other options in the area, friendly staff, quiet and clean during our stay, and the general no pet policy is helpful for those of us with allergies. Not as great: The breakfast is average and the exercise room is spartan (one treadmill, one bike, one hand weight for the entire place).

Our stays all started with a very friendly greeting. The rooms were very clean and roomy. The hotel was located close to all of the shopping and a lot of the restaraunts. They have a great breakfast in the morning with a great selection to choose from. Check out was easy and fast. We will continue to stay on future trips.

I stayed here for one night and my room was at the very end of the hallway so it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower had fantastic water pressure which was a nice surprise. The internet was really slow. I liked that the mini refrigerator worked really well and so did the microwave. The breakfast was... More

Great place to stay ,clean ,friendly, new and great breakfast. Make sure you open the windows at night to hear the clip clip of the Amish horses. Very soothing. The hotel is conveniently located to the town. Cost of a stay here is very fair. Parking and general area very safe.indoor pool is spotless

The Van Buren was a great place to stay. We were able to get a two room suite at a very reasonable rate. The room included a small kitchen-like area complete with sink, coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in between a nice sitting area (sofa, chair, table and 2 chairs) and the bedroom. The wi-fi connection was fine, though we... More

I was disappointed by the breakfast. It was very blah. I ended up going out to breakfast the next morning. It is a good location, just a short drive to town. The hotel rooms are average. They need to have more of the luggage carts.

We stayed at the Van Buren on our way out to Bar Harbor and again on the way home. I was almost ecstatic to find a room anywhere close to South Bend on our trip out due to a Notre Dame football game that weekend and even though the only room available was a jacuzzi room, the price seemed fair,... Just stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel. The room seemed fine other than the couch looked like it had seen better days and the table felt sticky. The bedding was fine other than the pillows were really flat. My main concern was that the internet was down for 2 days "due to weather" they said. Ir seemed really strange... More

My mother and I stayed at the Van Buren while visiting Shipshewana. It was located at the edge of town in a very peaceful and quiet setting. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel also had a very pleasant sitting area in the hotel lobby with additional comfortable setting outside on a covered porch. Daily we enjoyed a... More
