Thornton House is a classic Victorian B&B. The owner is well versed in antiques and he has a fantastic collection decorating the house and bedrooms. The rooms are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The small TV's are are the only anachronisms in the rooms, but as I said they're small and don't intrude on the ambiance. It appeared to us... More

Great stay and reasonably priced. Very clean and the B&B was impeccably decorated. Some nice restaurants and shopping close to the B&B. The food especially the blueberry scones with a hint of lemon were out of this world. I highly recommend.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast Inn. I stayed at the Thornton House last weekend and the owners are wonderful. The house is tastefully done with several items of its history. There is a lovely sitting room for the guests and a patio where you can enjoy the garden and the street. My room was lovely, very clean, and the bed was... More

Took a motorcycle trip up to Lansing to stay here. Our bike broke down just outside of Harpers Ferry. Frank was so kind to come get us so we weren't stranded there. The house is full of history. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds & spectacular hot breakfast! Frank served waffles, glazed ham, eggs, fresh fruits & banana bread. We can't say... More

Just completed our fourth stay at this most historic B&B. The rooms are quiet and the innkeeper gracious and accommodating. We started a tour of local wineries by using this residence as our base camp. The breakfasts are exquisite! We'll be back.

Lovely old house - and I mean OLD - and it is lovingly cared for. It's just a couple of minutes from the house to "downtown" Lansing and the river, but it's in a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful - really tasty home-made waffles were at the center of it. We stayed in the Garden Room which... More

I am not someone who would search out a Bed and Breakfast, but we ended up at the Thornton House when friends made reservations for us. We arrived late, but Frank made sure we knew exactly where to go and what to expect when we arrived. The Green Room was comfortable with a large private bath, and the rest of... More

This is a very nice B&B. The room we had was spacious with a large screened porch and a Jacuzzi. The bed was very comfortable. The owner was very helpful and courteous. The home had a lot of history and antiques. In fact I would have to say the only real problem I had was the number of antiques in... More

This is pretty much exactly what you want in a B&B: historic house, clean and well kept up, lots of interesting decorations and memorabilia, friendly host and excellent breakfasts. Certainly the place to stay in Lansing.

I was in Lansing doing a computer install and needed a place to stay for a night. Thornton House came up on my Travelocity search so I decided to give it a try, seeing that it was one of only three places within 10 miles of Lansing. I'll tell you what, it was a great decision! Thornton House is a... More
