My room was fantastic with a really comfortable bed and good shower. The breakfast was amazing and Theresa went out of her way to provide me with a vegetarian breakfast, not to mention her homemade biscuits!

As a family of three married couples, The Old Bakery was a perfect place for our week away together. All the bedrooms are large, comfortable and en-suite with lots of space for everyone in the sitting/dining room and a good sized, well equipped kitchen. The place was immaculate and the beds very comfortable. The friendly owner, Theresa, hit just the right balance of being around and leaving us to enjoy our stay and the welcome pack was perfect. The village has a friendly, welcoming, community and everything you need on the doorstep. Despite being in the centre of the village and next to one of the two pubs, we enjoyed an unexpected level of peace and quite. There are loads of places to visit a short drive or bus ride away and The Old Bakery is a perfect base from which to explore the area. Highly recommended.

We had a great time. The house is lovely, the hosts were amazing. Really comfortable beds and lovely spacious room. Will definitely come back. Oh.. and breakfast was yummy. I loved the edible glitter in the home made plumb and ginger jam.

Stayed here three nights in August this year for my sons wedding nearby. On arrival I met Theresa and was offered a choice of the two rooms which were available. A room on the top floor with views over fields, or the "Harvest Room" on the first floor overlooking the approach to the property. I chose the Harvest room. A room bursting with character, With beautiful oak furniture, oak beamed ceiling and oak beam wall struts. The room had all the right comforts, tea, coffee, biscuits, t.v., comfy chairs etc Spotlessly clean.Huge comfy bed and pillows. The building is about 80 yards from the road through the village and there is no problem with any traffic noise. The bathroom, WOW. It is unusual to be awed by the appearance of your bathroom. But I was.The room was simply PRISTINE. I haven't seen a better bathroom in a plumbers showroom. Though all the fittings were simple and stylish and tasteful and ordinary, the room appeared to have fitted that day just for me. The breakfasts are made to your choice and the quality was first class. Though I will not forget how thin the sausages were. Nothing wrong with them I must add, I've. just not been offered sausages that thin before. The fruit cocktail is a specialty of the house and a "must have". Theresa is a wonderful host who tries very hard to make your stay pleasant and comfortable, and for me went the extra mile providing an iron, board and ironing starch for a difficult shirt I had bought for the big day I can highly recommend a stay at The Old bakery.

Response from Theresa M, Owner at The Old Bakery

Thank you for you lovely comments John. We were so pleased that your trip, and the wedding, went well. I must say the Harvest room is one of my favourites as it so cosy and has the added bonus of having a bath. But that said all the rooms are lovely and have their own character. As you mentioned the mill room, up in the attic, has the best views of all the bedrooms. You are quite right about our sausages, they are thin, I suppose they should be more correctly called chipolatas, but we like them, they are local, very tasty, as you and many of our guests comment on, and I am always happy to cook extra if necessary. Thank you for taking the time to write such a glowing review John it means a lot to us. Who knows, we may see you again in the future.

We stayed for one night at the end of August as we were visiting Pulham Market for a friend’s big birthday. From the moment we checked in Theresa and Jim made us feel very welcome with homemade shortbread and tea. The upstairs room in the oldest part of the building was large with a comfortable king size bed and an en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was all we could hope for after the previous night’s celebration with our hosts willingly attending to our every need. We left having thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A lovely welcome from Theresa. Our room was on the ground floor and was huge. Everything you could possibly need was available. Even fresh milk in the mini fridge- nice touch . Lots of books available about local area and local walks. Breakfast was excellent and Jim was very attentive. The room we used would be ideal for a disabled person .

Response from Theresa M, Owner at The Old Bakery

Thanks for the lovely comments Linda. It was great to meet you and your friends and family. Our Barley room on the ground floor is certainly a surprise to people as it is very generous and it would certainly suit the ambulant disabled and those who, for what ever reason, can't manage stairs. Hope we see you again in the future.

Having thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay, we had a look at the Trip Advisor recommendations. The 4 reviews that are merely "good" date back to 2013, way before Theresa and Jim took over the Old Bakery. They have an unblemished "excellent" record which they thoroughly deserve. We felt welcome the moment we stepped through the door, and as though we had somehow walked into our second home. They are both naturally warm and outgoing persons, but really their success is due to the highly professional care they bring to running this wonderful B & B.

Thank you Nick for your thoughful review. Jim and I are so pleased that you both had a lovely stay. It was a pleasure to meet you both. Running a B and B is hard physical work but the best part is the wonderful people we get to meet. So many arrive as strangers but when you leave we feel like we are waving off friends.

Stop reading this review. I'd like to keep The Old Bakery a secret! Theresa and Jim are the most delightful hosts. Greeted us with home made biscuits and a pot of tea and coffee. Rooms spotless. Breakfast all local produce, great value, very comfortable. I'm not telling you anymore as you will want to stay. Stayed as a family of six and all agreed. We will be back !

We stayed at the Old Bakery last Saturday due to a family party in Pulham Market. Theresa gave us a fantastic welcome and we felt at home immediately. She showed us to our very spacious room with its own charming stair case and promised to bring us up some home made shortbread. The promise was kept and it didn't disappoint! We had a very comfortable nights sleep and enjoyed a huge breakfast which was cooked and served both by Theresa and Jim. We loved the personal touch being referred to by our first names ... We left the Old Bakery feeling like Old friends but not before taking some home made cranberry muffins for the journey home. We will be back ... thanks for being perfect hosts.
