Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you’re travelling with a group of adults, the Plein Sud is unlikely to disappoint. The rooms are fairly basic, but it offers a good position and the food is excellent – among the best I’ve had in a ski hotel. Other aspects, however, were pretty dire. Maybe we arrived at a bad time, but it felt like our entire group was an unwanted distraction from the moment we got off the bus. There were no pleasantries at all when we checked in with the owner. The hotel was specifically billed as Family Friendly by our tour operator, so one of the first things I did was to enquire about kids’ meals and earlier sittings. I was told that neither were available – the earliest we could eat was the beginning of the main sitting and all they could offer was a smaller portion of the adult meals. “Well, I can tell you right now, I won’t be doing chips or anything like that!” was the owner’s initial comment. It seemed like an unnecessarily robust response given I hadn’t asked for junk food, but simply enquired what sort of thing they could do. In fairness to the hotel, this was eventually resolved with an earlier sitting and simplified versions of the adult meals, which worked well. But it took a couple of days, the intervention of our rep, and an inordinate amount of huffing and puffing from the management to reach that point. We also received some less than constructive comments, such as being told that the owner’s kids “would have eaten anything on the adult menu [which contained things like frogs’ legs and carpaccio] at that age” and even a suggestion that it’s what we should expect for bringing a kid outside of half term. The rest of the staff were great, but the owners continued to glare at us like we were the ones ruining their holiday. Overall, the pervading attitude was very much “if you don’t like it go somewhere else”, which is precisely what I would recommend anyone with young children should do.

Hotel Plein Sud Hotel Plein Sud is a family run hotel and everyone is extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Lynne and her team made us feel completely at home and we particularly enjoyed relaxing in the garden around the pool. The hotel has a great chef and all the meals were delicious; the hotel was happy to provide tasty vegan dishes, specially prepared for our two daughters. We had a very enjoyable week and can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Went to Hotel Plein Sud with my 18y old son for a short ski. Enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was fully booked and restaurant was a bit noisy at some times with people chatting. But the quality of the food surely made up for that! We had a nice room with more than enough space. A bit of renovation might be due but the room was very tidy and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job. Car could be parked just in front of the hotel which was very handy and the hotel is located within walking distance from the ski lift. We had a really good stay and enjoyed it a lot. Compliments to the staff!

What a lovely hotel, with comfy rooms, great views, delicious food and friendly helpful staff. We had a great week at the hotel and enjoyed the location, near the slopes and beautiful authentic village with great shops and cafes nearby. The local villages are such a great change from other larger resorts.

What a great hotel. It was close to slopes, the food was excellent and the staff super friendly. We went as a group of 8, and nothing was too much bother. I would highly recommend for ski or summer vacation. Thanks to the team for a memorable stay.

A traditional if a little dated hotel. English speaking and very welcoming owners and staff. Clean rooms. comfortable beds. Most important of all, great food. A convenient short walk to the lifts. In all, a great contribution to an enjoyable ski trip.

Just back from a very enjoyable large group stay at this hotel. The hotel is excellently located for the lifts, the short walk to the lifts was doable in ski boots but we hired lockers from a ski shop for €15 each for the week. The rooms in the hotel were clean and compact, with a fridge and safe plus bath robes, hot showers and the rooms was cleaned once in the week, which was adequate. We were on the ground floor behind the bar area and it was surprisingly quiet. I would recommend this hotel for a weeks skiing, the food was excellent, they managed to serve all 31 of us in super quick time with a choice on the evening rather than have to pick what you want to eat in the morning, which is what normally happens with a large group. We did eat a bit late for me but given our group noise levels I completely understand why. Others used the pool and said it was refreshing. You can always be mega fussy and pick holes in any stay in any hotel but nothing I would even bother mentioning here. Finally a big thank you to the chef who baked me a fabulous chocolate cake for my birthday.

We have just returned from a week's skiing at the resort and stayed at this wonderful hotel. The south facing bedroom looked directly onto the slope. The bedroom was sufficient and had plenty of room. Our room was a lovely temperature and we slept well. There were plenty of towels and complimentary shower gel and shampoo. The WiFi was good and we could access it throughout the hotel. There is a nice bar and the restaurant was clean and well laid out Staff were very friendly and helpful and sought to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The highlight of our stay at the hotel have to be the evening meals. The three courses were outstanding every evening and we cleaned our plates. After a day on the slopes and a few beers before the meal you couldn't have asked for better. The hotel is rated as three stars, the food should have five. Thanks to Lynn, Seb and the team for a fantastic stay. We hope to met you all again soon.
