#2 of 4 Speciality lodging in NamibRand Nature Reserve
Positioned on the edge of a 250-metre high dune, the Dune Camp sleeps a maximum of 12 guests in a totally pristine setting. The tents pitched on wooden platforms are comfortable and spacious including a private bathroom. A generous deck allows for safe sleep-outs under the stars, in the only International Dark Sky Reserve on the African continent. The main tent houses a lounge, dining area and an open-plan kitchen where you can chat to the desert chef, while she/he prepares lavish meals. Enjoy a cold drink around the campfire on the sundowner deck, where fellow travellers can be met and stories of the day will make their rounds in true African tradition. The charm of the camp lies in its tranquil, intimate atmosphere, capturing the romance of a bygone era… Dune Camp requires a minimum stay of two nights and a day-safari with picnic lunch en-route is part of the package along with all drinks and food (except imported spirits and wines).

The camp is located in a vast private reserve in the desert. The location is very remote and you will see lots of oryxes, zebras and ostriches on their natural ways through the desert. Guestrooms are tents with large terraces, spacious interiors and bathrooms, all very nicely appointed. All tents have unobstructed and fantastic desert view. Starglazing at night is spectacular. Food is very good and in the evening served at communal tables by the open fire. Staff is very friendly and helpful. A whole range of desert related activities is offered during the day by friendly and very knowledgeable guides.

Stayed 2 nights in the dune camp. It was oof the top locations during our 5 weeks trip Huge private reserve, different options of accommodation Bolders camp has a remote location between the rocks, looks a great place and is according our guide, chosen by smaler groups, families etc. Lodge is located near the airstrip and was for us less appealing because it is bigger. But if you don't like tents, this is maybe your place. Dunes camp is on a quiet location, great views from room and restaurant Tents are clean and spacious, with private deck, so you also sleep outside Tent are rather close to each other, so you can see and hear other guests. Mean area is in colonial style, you can have breakfast outside, offering great views. Dinner is at a ,family table inside. Inside it can get warm and busy, so maybe offering a chance to eat outside would be nice. We found breakfast ok, but dinner average . Dunes camp has a complete female team, service was good. Special thanks to our guide Mario. Although he was only 8 months working as a guide, his motivation and knowledge was outstanding. He was pro active and empathetic . It was a great stay and would come here again

Best lodge we stayed at in Namibia - this is a really special place. The views down to the valley from the rooms are amazing, and oryx are always around, with zebra, ostrich and ground squirrels to see on a nature drive. We had a sundowner drive and morning drive with our excellent guide Mario, who was very knowledgable and friendly. Food was plentiful and well prepared - we had three large and delicious meals a day. All service was of very high quality. Special mention to the mechanic - we arrived with a flat tyre which the lodge was able to fix for us, great time saver!

The place is awesome, high level tented camp in the Wolwedans private reserve. The tends are clean and elegant. Desert landscape & scened are unique, excellent food and service. There are amusing activities you can do during the day: hiking, game driving to see landscape & many oryxs, horse back riding at sunset. People are extremely friendly and welcoming. I strongly recommend it.

This is a wonderful review and we thank you for taking the time to complete it! Indeed, you're absolutely right - we are in the throws of renovation and we're attempting to be completed in mid-2020. This said, we are enjoying this renovation on account of our 25-year jubilee celebrations, as we were established in 1994. We are simply delighted at the prospect of welcoming you back again. Perhaps this time, to our iconic, Boulders Safari Camp?
