Having dreamed of a trip to Lake Natron for years, we finally decided to go after receiving a friend's recommendation to try Maasai Giraffe. We are so glad we went! Lepara was very helpful in assisting us with the process of paying the WMA fees and acted as our guide for four different excursions. This made all the difference in our experience. My main goal for the trip was to see as many bird species as possible, so Lepara suggested a couple of less-visited sites to try. I was blown away by the variety of birds and other wildlife we saw, and all in secluded spots where no human foot had stepped in some time. Our time at the lodge itself was also lovely, with nice meals and a beautiful, natural setting. I added several species of birds to my life list just there on-site, including the pygmy falcon and the silverbird. A lot of tourists stay only one night, but it is well worth it to extend the trip another night or two.…
Being on our way to northern Serengeti, this place is definitely a must for a stop over. Located in the shadows of Ol Doinyo Lengai and close to Lake Natron, you can easily spend a day or two in this unique and quiet area. The camp offers comfortable rooms, simple but with everything you need. Joel and the rest of the staff is very welcoming and especially the guide is very knowledgeable. One of the best local guides we have met so far! And the swimming pool is lovely with natural warm water!
We spend several days at the masai giraffe eco lodge. When you spend 1 week before in national parc public campsite. It very great to have hot shower, restaurant and very welcoming lodge staff. It's a little green place among the dust of natron lake location. We had our own tent the camping spot is great and very affordable. Additionaly, thanks to the lodge we took a guide to visit the area. His name is Lepara and we very much recommend him. The best part of our trip was three days and two nights with him at a masai boma in a very hard to reach area of the natron lake. It was a very exceptional experience. The masai are very welcoming and it is impressive to discover their village and habits. Children are curious and smiling all the time. Compare to their website price, it is almost half the price if you have your own vehicle and tent and it very much worth it. The last day, in addition, lepara made us climb a mountain to get a very breath taking view and then we went to visit his house and boma. We will never forget lepara, the masai boma and the Natron lake.…
We arrived at the place late at night.the place looked nice at night After taking a shower although the late hour, they made us a fresh tasty dinner.in the morning I saw how beautiful it is!we went to watch the birds and came for breakfast.it was delirious everything was home made, fresh and clean.the manager Joel and the stuff were so welcoming .i highly recommend this place🙏
This is at a beautiful location near Natron Lake, run by the Massai people. We were able to learn more about their culture and ways of life. Nice lodge and nice people. One of the Massai even took us on a tour to Natron lake to see the flamingos. This was also an amazing experience. There is also a small pool there which is refreshing on a hot day.
