We stayed in the homestay run by the owners of Riad Kasbah Oliver and it was a wonderful experience. The house is located just 5 min away from the Riad in the center of Tighza village. Unlike some fake homestays elsewhere, here your room is just one more of the rooms within the house, so you get the chance to...

Thank you for your lovely review of Homestays. We encourage those who are more adventurous to stay in village homes so they can be a part of the village and have a true cultural experience. At times there may be issues with water supply and of course homes are different in terms to tourism accommodation in terms of cleanliness, but...

Arrived exhausted, light luggage by mule, we walked. Expected to share a dormitory; one for men and the other for women. Pleasant surprise - double rooms - spartan but clean. But no hooks anywhere for hanging clothes; a minor detail however. Food good and plenty of it. I liked the stillness and beauty of the location and it was the...

Thank you for your review of our Kasbah. We will be getting bed frames and iron hooks for the second floor rooms in the near future. At present it is more akin to a gite (mattresses on the floor on level 2), but it is gradually changing. Most of the rooms on the 1st floor do have hooks on the...

Perfect location amongst a friendly village with stunning walks to do all around. Great staff and friendly tortoises! Food was lovely and views from the balcony are stunning. Keep in mind that this is a gite/ hostel accomodation and the rooms are basic with basic facilities but the location is well worth giving up a few luxuries for. Check out...

Thank you for your lovely review of our Kasbah. We want the accommodation to fit into the village so that everyone feels welcome. As you said in your review it is a great base for walks and there are many and varied walks around the area and further afield. The main appeals for people coming to Tighza are the walking...

Went there with a group touring Morocco. On top of a hill, offers you amazing views from its terrace and the food is simply delicious; one of the owners is a professional cook. It is clean, newly renovated and offers all the basic comforts of a mountain kasbah. A genuinely local place, where you can experience the berber lifestyle and...

Thank you for your lovely review. Mohamed and Omar are in charge of the cuisine so we are pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the meals. With such a beautiful valley it is definitely an advantage to be perched up on the side of the mountain. We really appreciate your kind comments.

I cannot say enough good things about the Riad Kasbah Oliver. Our stay was booked through the Whole Planet Foundation/Whole Foods Market trip and we were immediately welcomed, greeted by Mohammed and Ahmed's smiling faces. Not only did we have the entire 2nd floor to ourselves, but we had a lounge area where we could all be together, but had...

Thank you Sarah, we really appreciate your feedback. Our aim is to be a simple yet comfortable accommodation which fits in with the local community and landscape. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again in the future. Thank you for all the work your group put in on the village...

Mohammed and Ahmed were wonderful hosts and were always there to see to our every whim. The food was excellent and they catered to our U.K. group by having a typical British breakfast. The walk up to the Kasbah was a tough one, but our luggage was taken up on donkeys. The rooms were pretty basic, but clean. I will...

We went as a family of 5 (adults plus boys aged 9, 7 and 5) and really wanted to love this place. The location is stunning but the welcome from the owners mohammed and carolyn was distinctly cool. It is hiking heaven but the only guidance we got when we ask for a route was virtually monosyllabic. Food was extremely...

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you did not find the welcome you were looking for. Mohamed would do the welcome and talk you through everything normally, maybe it is because you had a guide/driver with you that he didn't on this occasion. The ladies who made the food were Mohamed's Mum and his Aunt, neither of...

I stayed at Riad Kasbah Oliver exactly one month ago. After much scanning on Google Earth tonight I realised I could see the building and decided I had to write something about this fantastically remote High Atlas outpost. The journey to the kasbah was a story in itself….never ending roads twisting upwards through an almost lunar landscape to the tiny...

Thank you for your review of our Kasbah in Tighza. Our aim was always not just to build a guest house but to benefit the local community through projects and local employment. This goes through from actually building it through to providing employment for muletiers who's mules bring visitors bags up from Animeter. Until I went to Tighza for the...

An excellent place to stay in a beautiful setting. Mohamed and Ahmed the two brother who run the Kasbah will make you feel like one of the family and nothing is too much trouble for them. Mohamed is married to an English woman Carolyn so you get a bit of understanding of what western tourists expect. A nice balance. Its...

Our projects are very important to the 4 villages that make up Tighza and villages further down the valley. These would not be possible without volunteers who come and work alongside the villagers on projects like building water towers, replacing irrigation channels and the village hamam (the largest project to date). The Village Association Chiefs make requests on behalf of...

If you go to the Riad Kasbah Oliver expecting five star luxury you will be disappointed. However approach your visit with a desire to experience the real Morocco and you will come away fulfilled. The Kasbah lies within the isolated rural community of Tijhza where the material standard of living falls well short of our Western expectations. However the people...

Thank you for your review. We are very fortunate to be able to have the kasbah in the place where Mohamed was born and by it's existence to help the wider villages in the area.
