Booked for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. Check in was easy and gave us a highlighted map from office to cabin. The cabin was welcoming and clean. It comes fully equipped with all needed kitchen appliances and cookware. There are dishes and glasses for 6 guests. The bedroom downstairs has a comfortable bed and plenty of space. There is a swimming pool behind the office in addition to a beach area lake front. The Cove has delicious food that caters to all ages. The office/connivence shop carries a variety of food and camping supplies. The resort is conveniently located near Junction City if you need anything that you forgot to bring.

We enjoyed one of yurts for a night as a brief spring break getaway. Check in was easy to get the keys, the yurts were very clean, and the interior temperature adjusted quickly with the a/c wall unit. The grill and table area were clean and there's a lovely fire pit with each yurt for s'mores! We met a few locals at the Milford Tropical (the one restaurant in town) who mentioned the lake can get pretty crowded in the summer, but for our stay, it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing! Highly recommend as a "glamping" experience and the cabins looked fabulous as well! We look forward to returning this summer with friends!

We had an amazing stay at the cabin! The location was perfect—right by the lake with stunning views and plenty of great hiking trails nearby. The cabin itself was cozy and well-kept, just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The food and staff at The Cove were excellent, adding to the whole experience. My wife kicked me and our two boys out for a girls' weekend, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to land. Highly recommend it!

We made a reservation, stayed at the resort. The cabin was very plain. That's ok. The buyer beware part, you have to make a reservation within 24 hours of arrival for next year (they are very hard to get into). We made next years reservation before we even got the chance to experience. THEN if you don't cancel within 24 hours of making the reservation, you automatically lose your deposit. After the rate went up over $200 for the same thing next year, we decided to cancel (not know or having signed the policy). Yep, out $400. They had a copy of NOT my signature while I was swimming but in this case they have documentation. We will never stay again and I'm hoping this deters people from losing money. Things come up in a year!

I have never stayed in a more beautiful yet unfunctional place before. The Old School House reno was done very well, but when the advertising says sleeps 14 with 4 beds….leads a person to believe there are 4 bedrooms. Nope just two, on the upper floor where there is only 1 master bath and zero blinds in the eastern facing primary bedroom. So be prepared to rise with the sun and then if you’re in the other bedroom you have to hike sooooooo many stairs to get to the bathroom multiple times a night!!
We also killed quite a few brown recluse spiders in the primary. Three in the bathroom and one out freewheeling on the wall by the desk. I’d guess the nest is in the bathroom. I’ve also never experienced overwhelmingly rude customer service like we did there. Kinda incredible. We managed to work around all of the glaring inefficiencies (we made a fun game out of the kitchen cabinets with no handles….) and had an incredible time on the lake, which was very welcoming, warm and so much fun!
If you stay here be prepared for stair hiking in the night, no access to your kitchen cabinets, poisonous spiders, and BRIGHT sunshine at 5 AM!! You’ll love how pretty it is though. Just beware of the staff don’t piss them off or they will go out of their way to make you miserable😆. Or at least try. I understand hurt people hurt people.

The staff is friendly, the cabin is very spacious and secluded. Lovely setting. I would have appreciated having 1 mixing bowl, 1 pizza pan, and a pizza cutter in the kitchen. The trails were easy to find and follow. Overall, a very positive experience.

We have been staying at Acorn Resorts every Labor Day for over a decade. Overall, it is always a fun experience. The lake, marina, and now swimming pool are perfect for our family fun. We also love that the streets are full of children biking and walkers. The restaurant has good food, live music, and a great patio. The staff is helpful and kind.
Over the years our only complaint is that some of the cabins are not laid out logically, and all of the ones we have stayed in need some repairs and/or updates. For example, almost every screen in every cabin has holes in it... not great for enjoying the fresh air without invading bugs. The toilets are low, stained, and often struggle to flush. The shower heads are not fully functional, as they have hard-water clogs. Some of the furniture is showing wear and tear. None of the cabins we have stayed in have had grilling utensils.
These problems are small and insignificant to some, but to others, they might be more problematic. For a large family like ours with people from ages 1 to 64, having these things updated would make our stay even more enjoyable. (On a different note, there need to be more trash dumpsters available for holiday weekends, as overflowing dumpsters are unseemly.)
That said, we will definitely be returning, as we love our time together and the tradition of gathering at Acorn Resorts and Milford Lake each year. Having a cabin with AC, electricity, and running water to stay in at all is something we appreciate.

Cabin 15 was super basic but super functional, exactly what you would expect staying at a rustic cabin. Regular size fridge, working stove, and dishes/pots pans provided. Everything was clean and looked tidy. But if you need an exception, good luck! office staff just not listening to my medical need to get early check in to an already empty cabin, young girl at desk kept repeating "we can't issue codes until 11AM.: thankfully young guy stepped in and called his manager for approval. Another family had a room trade request due to lack of elevators for handicap elderly, and front desk seemed uncaring and again unwilling to listen and offer a solution.
You'll enjoy the serene evenings, nice walks, lake activities, and a pool. grocery store nearby by approx 5 miles from entrance.

Thank you for the review and taking time to give us feedback about your stay. That is not the level of service we aim to provide our guests. We will be retraining front desk staff on early check in procedures and who to ask if assistance is needed.

Campground was great. Nice big space. Gave it a 4 because the WiFi was terrible. Rare did it even show up as a wireless network. Can understand if it were full but there were only 4 RVs at the time of our stay. With all the great things you have done there you need to take it one step further and supply good WiFi especially since tv reception is bad(not your fault). Went to the cove for dinner. Have been there before and it’s been ok. This time it was the best we have had. Food was cooked well. Delivered hot and tasted great. Thinking you must have gotten a new chef. We will return thank you

Honestly not sure, but Junction City is only maybe 10 minutes away and I do know they have multiple courses there... Also, Manhattan is only 20 or 25 minutes away and they have several courses.
Yes, we do allow pets. We charge a pet fee of $10 per day/per pet. (maximum of 2 per cabin, pls) Just let us know when booking or at check in and your fur-baby is included as family.
