I stayed here for one night on the way back from a job in the Scottish Borders. This is a great hotel, just been refurbished I’d say, the bedroom was immaculate and finished to a high standard. Tony was a great host, friendly and just what you’d expect. Food was great, I had a bar snack in the late afternoon, a steak sandwich which was really good. On the evening I met up with colleagues who were in the area on a job and we all ate in the restaurant. The food was very good with most of us opting for the curry. We all cleared our plates and decided on desserts, these too were very good. I will definitely stay here again

We stayed this week for 2 nights, lovely setting in a clean environment and staff were friendly enough. My only thing would be that with the breakfast being served from 7-9, the portions were on the small side, as this was the only meal most people (like us) would be eating until late that night, it would be good to have a fuller plate. Also a little more knowledge on Vegan foods would be an advantage as surely we can't be the only Vegans to stay ever and we bought our own soy milk to have tea which I'm so glad we did otherwise we wouldn't have been able to have cereals or tea, even though we did phone up a few days in advance to say we were Vegan, no prior effort was made to cater for us. Would stay again but would want more value for money as it's one of the more expensive places we came across when booking.

Our family live a mile down the road and we were up for an anniversary meal - after a 5 hour drive the welcome was warm and the rooms extremely clean and comfortable - the breakfast choice was great and plentiful. The family anniversary meal held there was excellent. The staff make this place - friendly and happy to help with anything - a little golden nugget this one

We visit regularly and I’ve left a review on google before but I thought I’d do a tripadvisor one. The portion sizes are amazing, food is served hot, and the service is fantastic. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and clean.
