We enjoyed our stay at The Stockade. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the rooms quiet, and the hostess friendly. My husband left an item in the room and the item was shipped to us making the remainder of our trip doable. Baton Rouge has a lot to see and we wished we had more time there.

Super Great Place. Jan, the owner and inn keeper gave us a great memory which we can only hope to repeat. Too many compliments to mention. A great room with a great bed. Patio looking to a garden setting makes you feel like at a English countryside inn.

I've stayed at The Stockade on three different occasions now and always enjoy returning there when in Baton Rouge -- even when the event that brings me to the city is held downtown. The grounds are lovely and peaceful, the house is spacious, quiet, and beautifully maintained. Janice is a wonderful host -- unobtrusive but very generous and helpful. Hearty... More

This is a great place to stay! We loved talking with Janice (a former art dealer) about the art in her house. Our room was large and comfortable and we sat out in the garden and relaxed (accessible directly from our room). We walked across the street to Sammy's Grill where we enjoyed good Louisiana cuisine. Janice prepared a memorable... More

We spent one night in this B&B and wish we could have stayed longer. Our host Janice greeted us with a warm smile and a glass of wine, well needed after a long drive from Houston. The house is just beautiful, our room was very big and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Janice gave us restaurant recommendations and spent an hour... More

We only stayed for one night but the hosts made such a fabulous impression. Their friends were also so friendly and we felt so welcomed. I will recommend this place to friends but maybe say to stay a few days and use it as a base to travel around. We will carry very fond memories of this delightful place.

I was pretty much forced into booking the Stockade for two nights when my wife and I traveled to Baton Rouge for an LSU game. Lack of choices for hotels brought me to the Stockade. And, I'm so thankful it did. From the size and cleanliness of the room to great location to great tasting breakfasts, the Stockade was an... More

Thanks Tigerman! We're glad you found us too. We appreciate your kind words. Perhaps our kindred spirits will meet again at a future battle in Deaf Valley when our LSU Tigers take on another opponent. 'Till then, keep Louisiana alive in Texas, my friend. Thanks for staying! All the best, Janice More

We stayed at The Stockade for two nights in the Rex Room. It was large, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast both days was delicious, especially the French toast, Eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes. Janice and her staff are delightful. The grounds are gorgeous as is the large living room. Despite our Missouri Tigers being soundly defeated by the LSU Tigers,... More
