This is a chance to stay in a historic property. The bed rooms are on the top floor. The ground level is the restaurant and offices. This a 200 year old plantation house. The plumbing was good. The bed was soft. We did not need the air conditioning. They have a banquet room. The property is used for meetings and... More

The Ormond Plantation Manor House, located on the banks of the Mississippi River in Destrehan, Louisiana, is one of the gems on the Great River Road, an exquisite example of French Colonial-style and modeled after the great Creole sugar plantations of the West Indies. It is unique among all the magnificent plantation houses that have survived along the river from... More

The plantation is beautiful! We walked the grounds and even walked the levy along the Mississippi River. We woke up early and had coffee on the front upper porch, it was so peaceful. We stayed Saturday night and thought we were the only ones in the entire place until we went down for breakfast and found that there were two... More

We stayed over for one night and ended up being the only guests in the house. It was a little creepy, but fun to be the only ones there. The Ormond Room was lovely and had access to the veranda. The food was good as well. I would stay again. The only thing to note is to make sure you're... More

We decided to stay one night in a real plantation B&B and booked the green room at Ormond Plantation. While we felt that the plantation was very original, the service friendly and the room quite big, we struggled with the quality of the bed, the very dark room with covered partly broken windows with a noisy AC and the absence... Pineapple room was fabulous! My sister and I so enjoyed our stay at the plantation. The Chef prepared us a "fit for queens" breakfast. Hospitality was exceptional. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Beautiful grounds and an awesome piece of history. Thanks!

We stayed on March 30th, and the start of our plantation and New Orleans vacation. We had the Ormond Room. Very nice large room with doors leading to veranda. The Ormond Plantation was extremely clean, and the staff could not do enough for us. Extremely friendly! The view off our room was so relaxing and you could watch the boats... More

There were six of us who went out for dinner. Service was impeccable. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts. Literally every single item was prepared to perfection and the moaning of satisfaction was almost to the point of obscene. LOL We were the last to leave and enjoyed every second of our visit, which included a tour of the upcoming... More

My wife and I had the wedding of our dreams at Ormond Plantation. It was a destination wedding since we live in Florida but our families live in or near New Orleans where we grew up. We were coming back to New Orleans for my High School reunion and decided to extend our trip at the last minute. Our N.O. hotel was booked and since my partner had never been to Louisiana, I thought it might be nice for him to see the countryside. Luckily, I just happened on a listing for Ormond. I won't say...
