A proper little country pub with award winning accommodation. We are located in the beautiful Northumberland National Park and we have some of the DARKEST SKIES in England. We are very close to Kielder Water and Observatory, Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Gardens and the Coast. There are some beautiful walks that start from the pub including an ancient BASTLE trail. We have 2 family rooms and also welcome well behaved dogs. Whether you are coming to the area to walk, cycle, star gaze or just relax we can assure you of a very warm welcome.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely fabulous stay. A real cosy pub. Delicious home cooked food. A real treat. A warm welcome awaits with a roaring open fire, with hosts to match. Beautiful setting with rolling hills. Very peaceful. A good selection of drinks. Will definitely me recommending to others

Had a meal at the Hollybush whilst staying nearby. Everyone in our party agreed it was 1 of the best pub meals we have had and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area but book in advance to make sure of a table.

A friendly welcome at this country pub, good food and reasonable prices. Local beer on tap too! We ate here whilst on holiday in Northumberland. Picked it from a guest book review and enjoyed our evening. There are lovely views over countryside from the rear garden. The restaurant area is not the largest so you are advised to book.

What a lovely little inn and B&B. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Great ales, too. Try the Grainger or the Tyndale both really good. Thank you to John, Lynn, the landlord and landlady, and Jules, who served us breakfast and just brightened up the day with her laugh and energy. All in all, and wonderful stay

An amazing old Inn, in a tiny hamlet but what a gem! Super friendly staff amazing food and the locals where very friendly as well. The bar is well stocked with a superb range of drinks. A small food menu but food locally sourced, fresh and different. We felt very welcomed in this small village Inn and have booked to return next Spring. Can't wait!

Such a lovely warm welcome. Stayed here with a female friend for a gravel cycling event. The area was so beautiful! Breakfast was arranged for us to take to the room as we were out early..just what we needed. Thank you!

Excellent Food - the Chef was so kind too - he stayed late one evening, even though he was just going home, because we returned from a Walk late and he didn't want us to go to bed hungry, and he prepared us a wonderful Pasta dish with a Sauce to die for! Room was nice & spacious, although we were kept awake by a very loud guest in the Bar below one night! Will definitely return.

We stumbled across the Holly Bush Inn after the pub we wanted to go to was closed, and we're so glad it was as we wouldn't have found this gem. It's a proper little pub with a local vibe, where everyone including the dog is welcome. They have great beers and the food is fantastic- so good we booked again for the following evening. We will definitely come again and will look to book accommodation too!

I tried to cancel 3 days ahead of the booking but the hotel dodged phone calls and emails only to charge full rate for cancellation? I understand that times are tough but screwing potential customers can only lead to 1 result - good luck Holly Bush

Response from Lynne Thompson, Innkeeper at Holly Bush Inn
Responded 11 Jul 2023
Hi You booked through booking.com where as on our website one of the few conditions is that you give us at least 3 full days notice if you wish to cancel , we don’t take money up front or ask for non refundable deposits You sent an email cancelling your room well within this period and also later through booking.com (apparently you thought we were in Warwickshire not Northumberland) Needless to say we were unable to let either room at such short notice
