This was one of the best B&Bs that I have ever stayed at... I prefer B&Bs to a sense of the local history and culture. I was overwhelmed by this place with the nostalgic pictures, ceramic dolls and trains, well poised garden/fountains, and all right next to a cemetery. The house had several different rooms to select from suites to... More

The title is trite, to say the least, because staying at the Samuel Guy House is like no other B & B experience. From the history and layout of the house, to the indescribable displays of collectibles throughout, not to mention the breathtaking garden area, and, last but not least the inn keeper Theresa. To mention this lady is to... More

This B&B is in a home with an interesting history, and the innkeeper has stories to tell. There is no elevator to rooms on the second floor, so be sure to note location of the room/suite when booking. I stayed in the Kate Chopin Suite, which is decorated with Leonetto Cappiello's art prints, reproduction antique furniture, chandeliers and period appropriate... More

It's in a pretty part of town. Within walking distance of riverfront. Very comfy beds. Breakfast was good and place is very well decorated. The Inn Keeper was very friendly and knowledgable. Will stay there again.

We stopped by last minute to try to get ONE more night out of our vacation. We always adore staying at the Samuel Guy house. The history of the house is fascinating and the historic American Cemetery is right next to the house. The best part of the visit, is Theresa. She is the inn keeper/ chef/ gardener/ lady of... More

The property and grounds are beautiful. The Kate Chopin suite was nicely appointed. My only complaints are in the suite's bathroom. When we arrived the toilet was dirty. My wife decided to use the whirlpool tub that evening after dinner and some type of algae from the tub jets filled the entire bathtub.

We spent two rain-soaked days in the Samuel Guy House which is a beautiful structured tucked away a few blocks from the historic downtown in a residential neighborhood. The inn backs up on the American Cemetery and University so it is a peaceful, beautifully landscaped property. The house is well restored with large ample rooms tastefully decorated and comfortable. We... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights here as a Valentines getaway Feb. 12 and 13, 2016. It was nothing less than an extremely positive experience from the reservations online to our final goodbyes this morning. We arrived after 9pm on Friday to have our key and needed information waiting for us at the door. The room was immaculate as... More

Stayed at the Samuel Guy house, and have no complaints at all. The House, grounds and room were extremely clean. The room we stayed in, The Maurice Room was nicely appointed. The king size bed was very comfortable. The room has a small refrigerator, microwave, ceiling fan and a nice size TV set. The bathroom was very clean, it had... More

Our room was decorated for the season (Christmas). It was decorated using blue as the primary color. The bed was very comfortable. Our friend's room was a suite with a sitting room that was very eloquent. The entire inn shined with Christmas lights and trees. The dining area was comfortable with a view of the lovely gardens. The location was... More

“Brides Suite was beautifully appointed, quiet, downstairs, king bed and sitting room. Bed comfortable. Other suite downstairs had huge four poster which looked very comfy and nice sitting room. Located in back of house. A third room downstairs had only bedroom with king bed. We did not go upstairs. All are very quiet.”
