Boutique bed and breakfast nestled in the quaint majesty of South Queensferry, a cobblestone's throw from Edinburgh, Scotland and overlooking the might of the Forth Rail Bridge. Our four rooms - two kings, one double and one single - are offered with a rare fusion of Scottish and Australian hospitality, and our own distinct blend of style, colour and taste within the stone walls of the only example of 19th-century Gothic architecture in South Queensferry. We source our ingredients locally. We are a proud women-led and LGBTQ+ business.

I've just come back from a night away at the lovely Queens B&B and the word that keeps popping in my head was my stay was LUSH. The sheets are crisp, mattress and pillows are cosy and soft, the towels were fluffy, I loved the rain shower, and everything was spectacularly clean. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and there was real coffee in the guestroom with real milk, instead of flavourless instant and packet milk. Angela and Judith are gorgeous hosts; I felt welcomed and cared for. The Queens is located in very easy access to the airport, and a short trip into Edinburgh City Centre. South Queensferry is an idyllic seaside town, and I thorough enjoyed my walk along the cobblestones, shopping at Maisie's and lunch at Manna.

WE stayed here for a couple of nights during Edinburgh festival - simply one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in.
Fabulous breakfast (the bircher was to die for), extremely comfortable room and a warm welcome from this lovely couple. We could not have asked for more.
And especially appreciated.... nice jars of quality teas and coffee in the room, milk in a small flask and home made shortbread. Plus bamboo fair trade loo roll, quality soaps...... and not a single plastic carton, sachet or little bottle in sight. Made my environmental heart sing! We will be back.

We stayed at The Queens for 4 nights and can not recommend it highly enough. Angela was the perfect host of this lovely property. Our room, and in fact the whole property, was beautifully furnished. Every last detail was thought through making it not just a beautiful , but also an extremely comfortable stay. The breakfasts that Angela prepared every morning were simply outstanding! South Queensferry is a great spot for tourists- not only is it a charming unspoiled town overshadowed by the amazing bridges, it is also very easy to visit many of Scotland’s lovely cities and attractions from here. We also loved meeting Jude and of course the cat, Babaganoush. Thank you all for a wonderful stay, we cannot recommend enough!

I spent one night at The Queens Bed and Breakfast on a business trip to the area but would recommend this excellent B&B as a great place to stop for holidaying in the area. The Queens has spectacular views of the Forth and it’s bridges and is close to Edinburgh and Falkirk and the many attractions in this area. An old very interesting building that has been sensitively restored to provide modern very comfortable accommodation while retaining the historic character of the property. A very warm welcome from Judith and Angela and friendly service throughout my stay. A breakfast menu in the room enables you to order exactly what you want for breakfast and to specify the time you wish breakfast to be served. The full Scottish breakfast was probably the best I have ever had.

Treated like Royalty in absolutely top quality accomodation. On arrival we were greeted so warmly we really felt super welcome, the house is stunning, fixtures and fittings are top quality and fit for a Queen. Bed was so comfy I didn't want to get up for breakfast but so glad I did. All locally and sustainable sourced products served like a Michelin starred restaurant. This Queen really enjoyed the breakfast Sausage. Location wise South Queens Ferry so so close to Edinburgh yet you really feel like you're in a little village set in the back drop of 3 amazing bridges. Super friendly locals and if you need the hussle and bussel of a big City the bus right outside takes you to Edinburgh City.

I would absolutely stay here again.

I booked the single room for a couple of nights for a solo reading retreat. Although it’s a small room, enough thought has been given to the layout and furnishings that it feels spacious, and I happily spent my evenings ensconced with a book, whilst sampling the varieties of teapigs teas on offer. The bed is very comfortable and I slept well. While the B&B was fully booked on the nights I stayed, it was so quiet that if I hadn’t met some of the other guests at breakfast I wouldn’t have known they were there.

Breakfasts at The Queens are a delight: beautifully cooked and presented, made with fresh local ingredients, and with options to suit all dietary needs and appetites. I optimistically attempted the porridge and the full Scottish one morning and really didn’t need to eat much else that day!

Angela and Judith (and Babaganoush) were very welcoming, and happy to advise and make suggestions about places to visit locally. They have created a real treasure at The Queens, and I will be recommending it to everyone and anyone looking to stay near Edinburgh.

Funtastic! We don't usually write reviews but my boyfriend and I recently stayed at The Queen's for a long weekend and we absolutely LOVED it. We stayed in Queen Margaret and had the best sleep we've had in ages. The bed was so comfy. Between us, we tasted the whole breakfast menu during our stay and every single thing was delicious. Angela and Judith advised us on where to go for activities and dining and even helped us to make reservations at highly sought after spots that would otherwise have been difficult. A combination of warm hospitality with stylish and comfortable surroundings. We'll definitely be coming back whenever we can.

We spent five nights at The Queens with Angela and Judith and every second was outstanding! The rooms are so comfortable, with wonderful linen and luxuriant towels. Everything is beautifully decorated too. The breakfasts were incredibly delicious and substantial and our every whim was catered to. I cannot describe how helpful both ladies were; from booking restaurant reservations to shuffling cars around. We felt as if we were leaving home on departure. I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you!

Great bed and breakfast. The rooms are spotless and facilities are just what you need. Great rainfall showers. Every type of tea is available and home made shortbread. The breakfast is delicious, with a good choice. I recommend trying the birsch. There is a bus stop very near by and easy access into Edinburgh. What really makes this place special is the hosts and their service. As a lone woman I would feel safe. Nothing is too much trouble. They aim to meet your individual needs. The area is great to see the three bridges, walking, cycling and just browsing through the local independent shops. This place is a must to stay at. I would go back there and have recommended to family and friends.

This is probably the best Bed&Breakfast I have ever stayed in. Lovely room, terrific bed, and epic breakfast! The premises are within a stone's throw of the famous bridge and the bus to Edinborough stops right outside the door.

What more can I say: Judith and Angela are a treasure to behold.

how easy would it be to get to royal highland centre by public transport
Answer from Terry Mackenzie

Traveling into the centre of Edinburgh by bus takes around 40 minutes. The bus stops directly outside The Queens. There are trains available too, which are faster, but the convenience of the bus swayed us.
