We stayed at the lodge over bank holiday weekend for 2 nights in room 3, a great sized room with a lovely countryside view from the window. There's also a skylight so you can pop up like a meerkat and look at the stars if you're lucky to get a clear night sky. The lodge is in a lovely location for walks and the nearby local pub the Parkers Arms.
Breakfast was great and we also had evening meal on one night which was lovely and very plentiful! We both had starters followed by the steak pie (really hope this pie will be available in the farm shop when it opens). No room for dessert unfortunately but sure they'll be equally tasty aswell.
Matthew and Helena were very friendly and welcoming and we'll be back in the future, highly recommended!

The rooms are comfortable and very clean, we had two of them, both had great views. Comfortable beds. Friendly hosts, that made you feel relaxed during the stay. Excellent cooked breakfast and plenty of it.
We had an evening meals on both nights of our stay and the food was always fresh and delicious, again there was plenty of it. Just what you needed after a day of walking. I would recommend this B&B, especially if you are looking for somewhere to kick back after a day of walking or cycling in the area. Lots of hiking routes and short walks to choose from.

Came here with my family for a night away in the Forest of Bowland - truly a haven in magical folds of hills. Matthew and Helen were fantastic hosts, and despite the thorough preparations to ensure the BnB was Covid-19 safe, managed to make us feel right at home.

I had a huge double room on the ground floor with blissful views over the valley. Lots of nice touches, including fresh milk being available for the tea and coffee you could make in the room.

Dinner, after a gorgeous sunset walk, was incredible - so tasty, and tons of it. I couldn’t resist dessert, although I should have. I surprised myself by still having room for the impressive veggie full breakfast the next morning!

Thoroughly recommended. I’ll be back for sure.

We visited this lovely place for a birthday weekend. the accommodation was very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. the breakfasts were something on another planet, local fresh produce, cooked piping hot and plenty of it. ( we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day ha ha)
easily located for some great walks in the area. Book this place if you are in the area.

We booked this B&B to break our journey on the way up to Scotland and again for our return journey as it was near the pubs we'd booked to eat in. Bit of a risk to book two weeks running just based on reviews but we were so glad we did.
We had a large clean room, nicely decorated with plenty of storage, a lovely view of the beautiful countryside and a big comfy bed. We slept very well both nights.
No exaggeration, the breakfast  was exceptional. My husband had the full works which included proper black pudding and excellent sausages. Always a favourite of mine, my kippers were fresh and delicious.  The eggs were free range, always an absolute must for me, and all the ingredients were of really good quality, including locally made yoghurt. Everything was perfectly cooked and served hot.
Hosts were very welcoming and friendly and we very much appreciated the little touches like torches that could be borrowed to help when walking  along the lane to the village. Loved the natural setting,  wildlife friendly garden and old stone buildings.
We definitely intend to return and maybe stay longer.

This was my 3rd stay, having had to cancel the trip in 2020. The warmth of welcome and the hospitality are undiminished. It's home away from home! One would never leave after breakfast or dinner feeling hungry. The cuisine is excellent and the ingredients for the food very fresh. All the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The house issituated on a quiet road that gives easy access by a short walk to the village and is perfectly located for exploring the Forest of Bowland and surrounding area for walking, cycling or by car. A big thank you to Matthew and Helena

The service rivalled that of international 5* hotels I have visited. The beds where super comfortable and rooms generous with a gorgeous backdrop. I may of been slightly hungover on the Sunday and I received a bacon sandwich and orange juice in bed. I must also add how clean the rooms where, everything inclusive of the coffee provided in the rooms was such a high standard. All taxis where organised with us and the breakfast was stunning with a huge set of options. I had fruit and full English made to order. Absolute gem of a find and matthew and his wife were amazing. I never write reviews but this place was exceptional, I would recommend for anybody attending weddings locally or those looking for a holiday retreat in the area.

Just home after 2 fantastic nights here, accommodation is well looked after by hosts Matthew and Helena. The room we had (room1) was very clean, big and had great view down the fields towards the village of Newton in bowland. The food which we booked before we arrived was restaurant quality and plenty of choice. Helena went out of her way to organise food for us at the last minute on our 2nd night due to the pubs in the area being either closed or fully booked. We will defo go back here and would recommend to all.
Thank you for a wonderful 2nights stay

My wife and I stayed here for two nights (15th 16th Oct) for a quiet weekend and can't recommend it enough. Matthew & Helena are fabulous hosts. Definitely going back. Very clean and lovely room.
We wanted a quiet kid free weekend and as it was my wife's birthday knowing she likes dark nights and starry skies I wanted something particular and this fit the bill perfectly. A designated dark spot.
It's enough out of the way to be so peaceful but also a ten minute drive gets you in to Clitheroe.
The room (#1) was huge, extremely comfortable. It was a room we could relax in.

We weren't harassed by the hosts but they were always on hand which is the perfect mix in a host.

The breakfast is to die for, all local ingredients for the cooked which was delicious and the fruits and yoghurt was just the icing.

As I say, we're definitely going back very soon.
