Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the best B&B ever! We had the ground floor accessible room which was spacious, most comfortable and with gorgeous views from our balcony on the sunny days. A tranquil haven in beautiful scenic countryside. Our hosts, Helena and Matthew, truly know the meaning of hospitality and lavished us with care during our 3 day break. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty, the evening dinner likewise, using local high-quality produce, prepared, cooked and presented with skill. Everything was perfect, and if we are looking for accommodation in the area again then we will travel the extra miles to return. Thank you, Helena and Matthew, for a wonderful break; we readily recommend your exceptional haven.

I am not going to write much as a commentary as it was just the best stay in a B&B we have ever had...... The highlights: The welcome The food (breakfast is just superb and the evening meals are spectacularly high quality) The friendliness The help - booking a taxi for us The generosity in sharing beers The freedom The quiet nature of the area and views Whatever your reason to be in the Clitheroe area - get on to this place first! Some pics have been added - taken by us - the website and internet images are very real and its as good as it looks.

We would highly recommend this friendly, homely b n b! Substantial breakfast ... including local eggs and bacon/ sausages etc. Fresh milk available instead of the uht pots. Ideas for walks in a helpful folder in the room. Comfy bed and large room. You can walk to the pub The Parkers Arms and Matthew offered us torches for the return walk! Very happy with our stay and would recommend !

Clerk Laithe Lodge suited us perfectly for our one night stay as we were going for dinner nearby. It was a great stay - friendly convivial host with a good sense of humour, strong Wi-Fi, warm comfortable room a few nice touches - eg honesty bar, biscuits in room, torches for walking at night… Superb breakfast. All local produce and expertly cooked. Yoghurt to die for. Recommended.

Spent a lovely night here on the way South from the Lakes. Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were great, with a lovely view and breakfast was superb. All locally sourced dairy and meat produce and you could taste it. Highly recommend.

We booked this B&B to break our journey on the way up to Scotland and again for our return journey as it was near the pubs we'd booked to eat in. Bit of a risk to book two weeks running just based on reviews but we were so glad we did.  We had a large clean room, nicely decorated with plenty of storage, a lovely view of the beautiful countryside and a big comfy bed. We slept very well both nights.   No exaggeration, the breakfast  was exceptional. My husband had the full works which included proper black pudding and excellent sausages. Always a favourite of mine, my kippers were fresh and delicious.  The eggs were free range, always an absolute must for me, and all the ingredients were of really good quality, including locally made yoghurt. Everything was perfectly cooked and served hot.  Hosts were very welcoming and friendly and we very much appreciated the little touches like torches that could be borrowed to help when walking  along the lane to the village. Loved the natural setting,  wildlife friendly garden and old stone buildings. We definitely intend to return and maybe stay longer.

We were visiting the area for a friends wedding and found this place online. Felt very comfortable and relaxed. Rooms were lovely and clean and the breakfast was amazing with so much to choose from and tasted so good, very generous servings. We were able to arrange an early check in and later check out which was great. Wish we were staying longer so we could venture out more in the area. Thanks for having us.
