We stayed here last week and it was great! So am a very picky person and stayed before in many different resorts so I would say this resort is one of the best ! Pros: PEOPLE!!! Excellent service from people on front desk to housekeeping team! I wish I could remember all names , just a few to mention is Balbina beach server very attentive! Darwin Himitsu restaurant, he made our experience there !!Bernardo French restaurant this was spectacular!! Thanks! Sendy spa therapist ( massage ) or Wow wow wow!!! Sooo relaxing and professional!! As well as all spa facility !! Please try !! Nickoly UVC representative - thanks for great service and orientation !! ROOMS: very nice spacious accommodation plus extra touch with special design and relaxing atmosphere ! The one of the best rooms we stayed at All inclusive ! FOOD: what can I say ... The food is amazing here ! Start from breakfast buffet to al carte restaurants ! My favorite : Barefood grill : Whole fish sooo delicious! Thanks chef! French : onion soup, fillet minion and escargot ! Himitsu : sushi and rolls are great there very tasty! Seaside Grill : lamb empanada !! Try it if you like land the softest meat I have ever try!! BEACH : beautiful !!! White sand Unfortunately 3 out of 7 days we’ve need there it was stormy and we could not enjoy the beach but in day 4 it was paradise !! Sandy no rocks no seaweed just perfect !! ACTIVITIES: right on the beach no long drives just walk for 2-3 minutes and get jet ski , parasails or speed boat !!! So convenient!!! CONS ( it is only based on my preference may be for you it will be a pros) CROWDY : I like more relaxing vacation so I wish they have another quite pool with no loud music and many people who came for party.. like for instance Secrets akumal have .. but again it just me .. On the other hand people having a good fun loud time socializing with each other !! You will not be bored in this resort !! And last con I found is this resort is a little outdated compare to other resort same level . Other then that it is excellent resort .. you will not regret it !!! Thank you Secrets Maroma for a wonderful stay!!!…
I just returned from Secrets Maroma Beach where I spent 3 nights and 4 days. The following staff members are my heroes: Sergio at the World Cafe, Alejandro at Porta Fino, Daniel and Daniel at the front door, Maili our concierge, and pretty much everybody else I had any contact with. This place is not just a resort, it truly is an escape. We were not preferred, we did not visit the spa, and still we felt pampered like never before. All the staff seemed to be thrilled with their job and everytime we thanked them, they said "Tis a pleasure". I was blown away. I wonder if they diffuse prozac there.... Anyway, if you have the budget, even for a few days, GO TO SECRETS MAROMA. The beach is gorgeous, the pools are huge and lovely, but the staff is the main event. I was there over 9/11. What a blessing it was to see Old Glory flying that day and then to be able to observe a moment of silence at 8:45am with the staff and other guests. Wow. One thing to note is that there are lots of mosquitos in the evening. Take bug spray and wear it from about 5pm on. There are iguanas who help control the problem, but I guess there are just too many for them. Overall, they deserve their AAA 5 Diamond rating.…
We stayed here the last week of September after staying/getting married at Secrets Akumal in July. The resorts are fairly similar and we enjoyed both but overall think that Maroma just falls into second place. ROOM- the rooms are the same as Akumal- pretty, clean and have everything you need! They were kind enough to get us a bedside fan in our room (we have this problem at every resort where the AC runs less overnight despite the fact that it says its on) so that helped a ton! I am a light sleeper and was not much of a fan of the flashing smoke detector above the bed- if we were staying longer I would've asked if they had some sort of tape to cover the light -if you have sleeping problems make your requests the first day and Im sure they can meet your needs! LOCATION- we did enjoy that this was 30 mins from the airport as opposed to Akumal being close to 90 mins RESORT- Maroma definitely won this category. The layout at Akumal is less of an open layout which caused us to get lost in the windy paths a lot. Maroma is cut and dry and we loved that BEACH- the beach at Akumal is calmer, clearer and has turtles. I think we were not at Maroma at the best time of year (hurricane season) so the ocean was pretty rough and we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would've liked but I am sure at other times of year it is amazing- the seaweed is cleaned up by staff nonstop at both resorts FOOD- we loved the food at both but Akumal had better room service and poolside food. However, there was nothing at Maroma that we didn't like- the seaside grill was our favorite personally SERVICE- we have always had great service at Secrets resorts but do think that the staff at Akumal was just a tad above the rest. They all had great poolside/beachside/restaurant service though so no complaints by any means! ENTERTAINMENT- Maroma had a cooler set up than Akumal for games- cornhole/ladder ball/volleyball/connect four/chess/ping pong. Akumal had most of these but not as accessible. The shows at night were the same as most resorts we've been to- we went to the circus and rock show- they were both cool. There are plenty of scheduled activities through the day. The only downfall I would point to is there was better music at the pool at other resorts. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend any of the Secrets resorts as they all seem to have the same high standards (we stayed at Capri too and LOVED how small and intimate it was- definitely a little more old school than Akumal and Maroma but we had an amazing time). Just book your trip and don't read into a lot of negative reviews at any resort!…
This was our first time at secrets maroma and both my wife and I where extremely pleased with our vacation experience. The staff went out of their way to provide us with the best possible outcome and we couldn't be happier thank you Secrets Maroma cant wait to come back soon.
My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary at the Secrets Maroma Resort, we had a relaxing stay. We loved the fact that there were so many activities to take part in, and the food was amazing. The ambiance was so relaxing and felt surreal. The Costumer service we received was truly remarkable! We loved every moment of our stay. …
