This hotel has gone through a complete renovation. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The breakfast that is included was delicious. We initially stayed in the room overlooking the pool. On this visit we were on the ground level where you could step out the...More
The staff was incredibly nice, they remember who you are and are so helpful! You can rent canoes or kayaks from them and you are right on the river. Which also has a nice little running trail. Free wine every day in the lobby. York...More
Pros: Convenient location, clean room, nice handicap shower
Cons: Breakfast area is not accessible and desk clerk did not divulge this information when booking the room. Handicap bars in bathroom should be level and not on a slant which makes them difficult to use. Handicap...More

The campus is quite safe. Police on campus and in the town of Orono are always out patrolling the area and there are emergency beacons throughout campus (with a dedicated 24/7 campus police force as well). Orono, by and large, has a pretty low crime rate.
Cold weather on campus affects student life in the same way it would anywhere else. Though there is a shuttle that services campus, freedom to travel to off-campus locations is pretty limited without a car. As such, winter driving can be an issue if you are not familiar with driving in the snow. Regardless, the roads are pretty well taken care of, especially on campus.
Thank you for your interest in our beautiful town!
