Returning to the Phippsburg area we visited many years ago, we were happy to find The 1774 Inn. A charming historic house, originally the home of a shipbuilder, beautifully maintained and comfortable. We had the Woodshed Room, a delightful sunrise room with a big porch and mesmerizing view down to the Kennebec River. We ended each day in the chairs...

Surprised to see such good reviews on the 1774 Inn. I'm not one to complain, however, several problems. We stayed in the Gold room 1. room had just a mini fan and one window. The window didn't have a screen so you couldn't open it. Therefore, even though it cooled down outside at night the room was too hot. 2....

This is an amazing place. My wife and I wanted a quiet, beautiful inn - we found it and more. The history, grounds, architecture, decor and tranquility are mesmerizing... and Jackie is a most gracious host. This will be a lasting memory for us!

Beautiful antique inn and attached barn with rolling field and tons of stunning ocean frontage. The rooms SO pretty. Don't hesitate to spend a special weekend or have your event there. Very picturesque location. The ocean breeze made one of the hottest days of the year much note pleasant.

Now back in Denmark, we are certain that our stay at 1774 Inn was the very best during our two weeks in New England. The beautiful view from the terrace, the tasteful style in the room, the fabulous breakfast, and Jackies kind and pleasant hospitality made this visit a longterm memory.

We travelled to Maine for the first time, we accidentially found the 1774 Inn at Phippsburg and stayed there for 4 nights. The building has a long history but it is preserved in a well-kept shape as if it was build yesterday. The view over Kennebec river is breath-taking (as the Americans say), but this is really true here and...
