Rocked Cottages on Moosehead Lake fit our vacation plans perfectly. While we were looking for just two nights, Ron and Bonnie returned our call quickly to book our stay. Our GPS guided us to the resort, and we checked in quickly. Because we can park directly in front of our cabin, unloading was fast and easy. The cabins are "well... More

This was our first visit to Moosehead Lake, Ron and Bonnie were so welcoming and helpful and the neighbors were very friendly. It was a community of wonderful people. The cottage was clean and ruggedly Maine! It was perfect with two bedrooms, a bath, kitchen area, porch and living room. It overlooked the lake and Mount Kineo. We felt so... More

I've gone to Rockwood Cottages every September (sometimes in May as well) a majority of my life. I'm 20 now. Bonnie and Ron are awesome, and the little cottages are just like home. The lake is right there, and you can see Kineo from some of the cottages. It's my home away from home, and I can't wait to go... More

Friends of ours organized a get-together of winter neighbors. We all spend time together in the Florida Keys. We have known our hosts, Ron and Bonnie for several years and welcomed the opportunity to visit them and stay in their cottages on Moosehead Lake. The cottages are rustic and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We were fortunate to... More

We are back from our first visit to Rockwood Cottages. We couldn't have loved the place more. While the place itself was wonderful what really puts it over the top is the kindness and attention to detail by the owners, Ron and Bonnie. We took this trip to celebrate our anniversary and on our anniversary date they snuck into the... More

We had the Island View cottage which had a gorgeous view from the screened in porch of Moosehead Lake and Mount Kineo and it was only about a hundred feet from the water's edge. The cottage had everything we needed TV, refrigerator, gas stove and coffee maker and had recent updates. The hostess greeted us by name when we arrived... More

My husband and I travel a lot on our Harleys. Rockwood Cottages is the ONLY place we ever wanted to return to, for our hard earned vacation. The cottages are spotless, the views are awesome, but the best is the hospitality of Bonnie and Ron. The atmosphere is family. Fun, friendly. The first time we booked for 2 nights, but... More

I went with a friend who has been going for several years and was blown away by the accommodations and proprietors Ron and Bonnie. I felt more like an old friend going for a visit than a first-time guest. I will be returning with my family in tow for sure ....

We stayed at one of the cottages in October. We loved the cottage. The view of Moosehead Lake and the mountain were beautiful. We were able to cook in our room. The owners, Bonnie and Ron were so nice, friendly, and helpful. It is a long way from our home near Sandy Springs, SC, but I hope we can go... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rockwood Cottages is a village of housekeeping cottages nestled on the shore of Moosehead Lake in Rockwood, Maine. We are located in the heart of a complete four-season vacation area, an area that has something for everyone to enjoy every season of the year in a natural unspoiled wilderness setting. Here is a beautiful, crystal clear lake, 40 miles long and 20 miles wide. Moosehead is a boaters' paradise!! Explore sheltered inlets and coves and discover hidden beaches and picnic areas along the 400 miles of shoreline. To the left of our docks is the mouth of the Moose River so if the lake is too rough, canoers and kayakers can find calmer waters in the river. JOIN US FOR A FAMILY VACATION IN THE MOUNTAIN WILDERNESS OF MAINE Our summer guests at Rockwood Cottages can just enjoy the unique peace and solitude of the north woods or join in the many recreational activities in the area. We have nearby golf courses, tennis courts, float plane rides, white water raft trips on the Kennebec and Penobscot rivers, boating, swimming, bicycling and fishing. The surrounding wilderness area has hundreds of miles of wood roads and trails offering visitors a chance to get back into the woods and providing fishermen access to the many ponds, streams and rivers. Camera enthusiasts and adventurers can explore the surrounding woods and thrill at the sight of their first moose, deer, bear, partridge and beaver or enjoy picking abundant wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Hikers can take a leisurely walk down a quiet wooded trail or a challenging climb up Big Squaw, White Cap, Big Spencer or Mt Kineo. Mt Kineo, located directly opposite our docks, rises majestically out of Moosehead Lake forming a 700 ft.. Flint cliff. The Moosehead Lake Region offers some of the most beautiful, remote vacation opportunities in Maine! In 1903, Hanscom Packard said "Moosehead Lake is the jewel of the Maine forest--Kineo the gem, and Moosehead the setting!" "A STRANGER IS JUST A FRIEND WE HAVEN'T MET YET."
