Detailed Reviews
Our stay at Island Break was for 7 nights and was organised through Fulidhoo Dive Centre as part of one of their packages. We received a warm welcome from the jetty and eventhough we arrived in the morning our room was ready and waiting for us along with a glass of fresh juice.
They offered to take us for a tour around the island and gave us the down low on what to do and where to go. As part of the package we had 2 meals included - breakfast and either lunch or dinner. The food here was great and can be tailored to your tastes. My boyfriend loved the maldivian breakfast and their noodles/curries were very yummy. You get a bottle of water every day but it is a refillable glass bottle in your room which is a nice touch given the growing plastic problem.
The island itself isn't big and you can walk around it in about 5 minutes. The bikini beach is situated the other end of the island but it doesn't take long to get there and beach towels are provided. The beach itself is beautiful and very clean, it can get a little busy later on in the day though as everyone flocks there to watch the sunset. As it's a Muslim island it isn't respectable to wear swimwear outside of the bikini beach but the main local beach is lovely in the evening and most days we saw stingrays in the shallow water at the end of the beach.
There are a few local cafes/beach restaurants which are also worth a visit. I spoke to some other guests who had organised snorkelling/dolphin tours and said they were good but as we were diving everyday we didn't manage to do any.
The brothers that run the place are so friendly and you can tell they really care about their business. We had some lovely chats with them about their lives growing up on the island and they will happily help you out with anything you need. They are always around somewhere, either in the kitchen or outside in the newly decorated gardens. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a balcony with railings to hang up wet clothes. There was also a safety deposit box in the room which was handy.
Overall we had a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend Island Break. Thank you for such a wonderful time and your kind hospitality 💙

My family and friends stayed at the Island Break for 10 days and we had an overall amazing time. We booked our holiday through agency specialised for unique and private vacations because we wanted to feel a true Maldivian vibe, visit local islands, experience as many advantures as we can and have a worry free holiday. We got everything and more. Hospitality, generousity and kindness of the staff was the best I've ever experienced. The way they interacted with kids and even adapted menues for them was an additional plus.
If you want to see and experience how locals live, hear their stories and enjoy the true and delicious Maldivian cuisine, than this is the place to be. Rooms are renovated, clean and spacious, most of them with big balcony and amazing view. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on the beach or in the dining area which has the beach vibe with sand on the floor. All our excursions (swimming with dolphins, sharks and mantarays, late night fishing trip for boys, trips to few sandbanks with snorkling and picnics, feeding stingrays and sharks, visiting other islands,...) were included in the price and organised perfectly. All the brothers (staff) were more than helpfull to make us enjoy every moment spent there.
The guesthouse is located in the most amazing tropical scenery - flower garden, near the beach with crystal clear sea and the reef where you can explore underwater life.
Location was superb but the people are the ones who make the experience truly worth while.
Island Break became our new home away from home and we made friends for life. Kudos to the best team!
We would surely come back, hopefully soon.

Island break is one of the best places to stay for anyone planning a trip to Fulidhoo. Being a small island of 250 population, the rooms are much cheaper compared to the commercial island hotels in Maafushi. The hosts in Island Break (Mohammed and his brother Fifshan) were extremely courteous and went out of the way to make our stay amazing. Food at this place is awesome with a wide range of options. For an island famous for snorkeling on the nearby corals, the hosts provided snorkeling masks, tubes and life jackets for free which can be used during the duration of the trip. While there is no direct view from the room balcony, the beach on the Southern side is hardly 50 metres away where the hosts have set up amazing recliners and hammocks which can be enjoyed through the day and night. Overall, an absolutely awesome place!!

We stayed here for four nights at the end of 2020 organised via Fulidhoo Diving. Island Break is a wonderful guest house, with good sized clean rooms. The guys who run it are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is excellent, with an extensive menu and an excellent chef who really produced some delicious dishes. Thanks so much!"

It will be a long shot!
I have organized a holiday for my parents and was worried they everything goes smooth as they speak very limited English. So I have contacted the Guesthouse beforehand could discuss every single detail that interested me and even more. Now I can say that they have done every singe thing that we have agreed and I will say again, they did even more. Usually when you use some service, the service provider gives you a lot of expectations in words. However, the real service you get differs slightly from what you have been promised. And it happens at all places in all times. This time I was very surprised and glad for the service provided by Island Break and the holiday organized for my parents. I will not go through all the practical things that occurred during the stay. As it differs from guest to guest. What important is they all will be met and resolved in the best possible way by the staff of the Guesthouse. At the end of the day what matter is the attitude and the hostility of the hosts during your holiday, which they have done more than enough. I would put them 8 or 10 stars, but there is only 5.
Here are some feedback from my parents, who has physically stayed there:
In August 2021, my wife and I were vacationing in Fulidhoo Island in the Republic of Maldives. We settled in the "Island Break" hotel. The hotel rooms are simply decorated without luxury, but clean, everything you need in the room is available. The hotel team consists of young guys who, upon arrival in Mali, organized transfer to the island of Fulidhoo and back to the airport in Mali. The hotel staff treats their duties responsibly, everyone is polite and tactful. The food is good and varied, which is prepared by order in accordance with the menu (fish or chicken). The menu includes; soups, light meals, main courses, as well as salads, fruit desserts, drinks (natural juices, freshly squeezed pineapple, banana, orange, watermelon), etc. During the stay, you can book excursions (diving, snorkeling with sharks, stingrays, sea turtles. The day before departure, they organized a romantic candlelit dinner on the ocean shore. The impressions of the rest were positive.

I had booked this place with my friends to stay for 1 week to escape from the stresses of our work life back home and thankfully we had chosen the best place. I say this as island break never had failed to service us with their best. The place is run by 4 brothers and they welcomed us warmly. They ran a thorough introductory briefing on what food they served on their board along with the meal timings, they also told us about the excursion activities they provided and were very honest on which one was best and which one wasn't because of the season which we all appreciated very much. I had a terrible experience when we had went to shipwreck due to the unexpected weather which is something that sadly happens a lot in the Maldives and is not in control by the people here. Despite this the team on the small launch knew what to do so we felt very safe and returned back to fulhidhoo in good shape. The room they provided us with was very clean and organized , we had enough space to lounge around and the food provided by them is fantastic, and there's a variety to choose from. The chef knows how to add in his signature touch to all of the dishes he makes which is very impressive. Ranging from the starters to dessert, all of them had the local Maldivian taste we all were here for. Whenever we had any questions the staff was always ready to answer and guide us. They were open to criticism as well. I was so happy on how friendly the staff were to us, it felt like a second home. We will definitely come back for a second time. I absolutely recommend island break if you ever want to see the blue waters and beautiful sunsets in Fulhidhoo. This place is just the best.

Island break is a cozy small guesthouse on Fulidhoo, Vavuu Atoll. It is run by two brothers and a bunch of really friendly, local people.
It is easy to get there from Male, about an hour by speedboat. We were picked up at the jetty, and on the five minute walk to the guesthouse, they showed us where to find everything from the pharmacy to the two other restaurants at the island.
Fulidhoo is small. You can walk around it in 20 minutes, and there around 300 locals lives there. Everyone is nice and welcoming.
The rooms at Island Break are big, clean and have everything you need. We ate almost all out meals here, and the food was good. If we wished for something else or wanted to tweak something a bit, it was done with a smile and no extra charge. We stayed three friends at Island Break for five nights and had a great time.
One day we went on a boat trip with them early in the morning to go see sharks, giant mantas and turtles. I’ve been diving for 25 years, and I can’t even mention the number of times, I was promised to see stuff - and very seldom we succeeded. That’s nature, but the guys went the extra mile, and we snorkeled with more than 20 big (nurse)sharks, mantas and turtles. It was an amazing trip. We could have been lucky, and luck is properly better in the Maldives, than many other places, if you want to see big stuff. Remember to go early (no later than 8.30), then you will be there all alone.
Island Break is a perfect little oasis in paradise with very reasonable prices. I can only recommend to stay there.

Ya, basically you can inform the guys over at the island break regarding your dietary requirements and they be able to work something for you. I’m not sure if the exact timing, breakfast normally starts like 730, and the last meal about 930pm. Do take note that the food is freshly made hence do tell them in advance regarding your meal time. We payed about 1000+ for full board for 5 nights, breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, coffee, water any time and you can get to use the snorkel.
We had lunch or dinner every day. Mohammed is a great cook, especially if you are into fish. It's the Maldives so fish would be the best option, if not Mo can also make fried rice with curry (vegetable or chicken). Ot is better to eat here as there are no other options on the island (that are good as this one)
Have a safe trip
Cheers
Niksa
