This is our second stay at The River Inn. We stayed at another B&B but our days were spent at Ralph Marina so we decided to try The River Inn. It was a great decision. We enjoy how relaxed and casual it is. We stay in the Dick and Jane room which is the whole top level of the house.... More

We were looking for a b&B in Chestertown, always a challenge when we discovered the Inn on the River at Ralph's or Rolph's Wharf (spelling depends upon your GPS or map). It was a small gem with wonderfully friendly and helpful Hosts. A short walk to a cozy Bar (wine, beer and food) on a neat little beach overlooking the... More

My husband, mother-in-law, our two dogs and I had a(nother) excellent experience at The River Inn two weeks ago. Sandy, the Innkeeper is very warm and accommodating. Our room (first floor) was comfortable and breakfast was great. Unlike all the motels in which we've stayed, at Rolph's you can watch herons from the front porch, learn the history of the... More

My husband and I have been visiting the River Inn for the past 3 years and we just love the people, the bar and the up keep of the property. You can make the experience what you want it to be and the owner is not on top of you and in your room when you are not around, like... More

We were married on the lawn of the River Inn on Sunday, August 4, 2013, and it was a beautiful venue and the service was excellent. We had the entire inn for our family for several nights, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and cozy. This is the third family event at this facility, and it is highly recommended.

The River Inn is in a great location on the river a few miles out of Chestertown. It's very laid back and relaxing. You feel right at home in this lovely old house built in 1830. We spent two nights and both nights, we sat out on the porch just enjoying the evening. There is a bar right down at... More

“No elevator, so if you have problems with steps, try to get on the first or second floor. This is a B & B, so don't expect it to be quiet and private like a major hotel. Each room does have private bath and the view of the Chester river is excellent.”
