This could not have been a more beautiful setting. From beginning to end this trip was awesome, a lot to do with the help of innkeeper Mark and his aide Tina. We stayed in the General's Quarters, which was priced so reasonably we could have been at a Holiday Inn. Our room had hardwood floors throughout and came with beautiful period furniture, even down to the bears dressed in period costumes. I could have stayed in the room all day and enjoyed the coziness of it.

Breakfast was served at 9 am by Tina, where we all sat together in the dining area. A lot to be said to be sharing your stories with fellow inn residents.

This visit could not have been better. I would recommend anyone traveling to the area stay at the Antietam Overlook Farm. By the way, all of the rooms are outstanding. Our travel companion stayed in the wicker room, complete with fireplace and extra built in bunk. You won't be disappointed if you visit this bed and breakfast.

This location is 5-15 minutes from everything there is to do in this area. The breakfast is fantastic but be prepared to work it off the rest of the day. The farm is beautiful with plenty of relaxation available on site. Tina and the staff are very pleasant and helpful with whatever you need from directions to what to be sure to see in a certain area. All rooms looked very pleasant and the Generals Quarters room we stayed in was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when going back to Antietam as no reason to look anywhere else.

The location is perfect if you enjoy civil war history, hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, or just simply being somewhere in nature.
The room was very large, comfortable, clean and the bed was perfect.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
There were many small touches throughout the Inn that added to the stay. We enjoyed having a fire in the evening, getting carryout dinner and sitting outside with a bottle of wine and taking in the scenery, having a cold beer from the Kegerator in the country room (first one free, then $3 per drink, with chilled mugs in the freezer), and sipping a little Brandy for a night cap.
For dining out, Shepherdstown WV is about 20 minutes away and has a nice selection of authentic restaurants currently open at I believe 50% capacity.

To be honest, Antietam Outlook Farm is a beautiful Inn with its cozy charm and country views, giving attention to detail right down to warm daily cookies. The two female staff members are friendly and hard working, maintaining the Inn’s immaculate condition and preparing tasty breakfast.
If not for the Inn’s owner, our plans had been to return seasonally to experience nature’s changes from the view of the Inn. Within five minutes of our meeting, the owner’s lack of professionalism and poor business decorum became clearly evident as we shockingly fell victim to his statements related to Covid as “Those people were going to die anyway”…” My rights are more important than your health” and “If you don’t like it stay home.” … and upon his advice, we will.

That is not what happened. I do know that we were all mislead and that a tremendous number of people were not treated that could have been. Yes, my 96 year old mother died just prior to this and it surely was Covid. Right?

The best part of the property is the view. It is a knockout. A real serene site close to the famed battlefield. That alone makes it very attractive. A few downers: It looked like were that some things were in need of some upgrading. Especially the screens and chairs in the porch area of our room. Also the mattress sagged in the middle. Breakfast was good, not great. The staff was very nice, but to me the quality of breakfast did not synch up to the price of the room. They would have been smart to bump up the price $15 or so and have a gourmet breakfast given the caliber of property. Finally it would have been nice if the owner had personally welcomed us during breakfast and maybe offered some historical tidbits about the property. All in all, a pretty good experience, but mostly because of the location and views.

Hi Doug, We are sorry our accommodations did not meet your expectations. We have been hard at work since then improving the grounds. Mark, the owner is a very busy person, if he had the time to sit down and talk to each guest he would, but he runs two businesses besides the Inn. We hope to get your business again sometime!

One can see by the high volume of excellent reviews that Antietam Overlook Farm in Keedysville Maryland, just up from Sharpsburg, is your most relaxing and inviting inn with short drives from DC, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and more. This vast property at the top of the mountain with endless views is a great inn to rewind at. What I found most relaxing was the farm wood interior with several fire places and an African Grey to keep you company in the sitting room. Oh, a bird that you can actually have a conversation with!! The inn is the kind of place you arrive at and end up not caring about the surrounding battlefields and museums because you feel so at home, relaxed. Good place for a quiet read, an afternoon tea or brandy, or even a walk around the acreage. Don’t be surprised if you spot deer feeding early morning or evening, or take a walk down to visit the ducks in their own little chalet checking for new eggs. The innkeeper and staff keep Antietam Overlook Farm very clean and they are welcoming. Tina and her crew will wow you with a homemade gourmet breakfast and take care of your needs while you forget about work or other stressors. A nice feature was the inn accommodates Teslas and other EV’s, wake up and you’re charged. The inn is so close to so many good restaurants like the Bavarian Inn, or just a burger at Captain Bender’s in Sharpsburg. Next time we come we may ride our motorcycles there as the local winding and hilly roads are a great experience. For an inn with a staff Antietam Overlook Farm is priced right in there. You will not be disappointed as long as you visit this beauty leaving what’s on your sleeve down the hill. I hope the inn is in line for some awards. They deserve it.

We’ve been BnB enthusiasts for three decades and our wedding anniversary weekend at the Antietam Overlook Farm was easily the best ever! We booked the General’s Quarters (highly recommend) and so glad we did. This room is spacious and offers spectacular views of meadows, mountain ranges, wood lines, and wildlife. Very clean and comfortable.

The inn keepers rock! Mark, Tina, and Betsy made our stay a special experience. They provided us with a thorough and entertaining orientation - we felt like family from the first minutes after arrival.

For anyone with COVID-19 concerns, no worries - they have CDC mitigation protocols in place and follow them. At no time did we ever see an employee unmasked during our 3 day stay.

We met the parrot and General Lee (the kitten) also known as Lee Lee or Mister Meowser, both of whom are characters.

Breakfast exceeded expectations, with wine, coffee, snacks, and beer on tap rounding out the available victuals and libations menu.

We loved the serenity, scenery, and superb hospitality!

This large and relatively new inn features six large and well appointed rooms. All the amenities are on offer including a talking parrot. Breakfast is elegant and there are plenty of public spaces in which to enjoy comp beer or wine. It’s located ten minutes from Sharpsburg and the battlefield. Restaurant options are limited and it’s tucked away on a rural road offering a nice view of the valley. It’s pricey but if you are in the mood to splurge you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed with another couple in two rooms and absolutely loved it here. They had complimentary wine and coffee available, as well as beer and liquor for a reasonable fee that was on your honor. They were helpful when we asked about places to go for dinner. They asked us ahead of time if we had any dietary restrictions and were gracious and accommodating when we told then one in our party was vegan. The rooms were fabulous and the common room and porches lovely. I am so happy I stayed here rather than in Harpers Ferry, which is only about 1/2 hour away. Definitely recommend it here.

I would highly recommend staying at Antietam Overlook Farm for your stay to the Antietam area. The location is amazing, the staff very friendly, the accommodations beautiful and the food delicious. The inn sits on top of a hill and provides gorgeous views. From the time we arrived till we left the staff were very friendly. I have dietary issues and the staff were very accommodating to provide a breakfast that I could eat. The next time we are in the Antietam area we will definitely stay here.
