My husband and I stayed at the Seasons at Magnolia Manor during a recent trip to visit Black Ankle winery. The B&B is in a quiet setting with beautiful views of the mountains. The new owners are very friendly, attentive and offer history/tour of the manor. The food--both dinner and breakfast was delicious. The B&B is unique--full of character, charm,... More

Ok. My finance serves this country and she came home for one week from Gitmo...So i wanted to plan a pleasant stay someplace nice. Now, if someone had asked me before this stay, what I thought the ideal/perfect 3 days stay would entail, afteer staying at the Yellow Turtle (now called Mangolias I thinks) I would have to completely re-write... The new owners are very kind, busy with renovating the place and their food is really delicious as they own also a catering. The night is unbelievable quite, no noise of cars but maybe you hear an owl passing by and your own snoring wakes you up!

My wife and I had a lovely time in early March staying at the Yellow Turtle Inn. While it is true that the grounds did not appear to be well-kept, the house is historic and fascinating and the rooms are unique and decorated tres vintage! History everywhere! The brunch (10am breakfast service) was very tasty and Joan was thoughtful about... More

We booked two rooms at the Yellow Turtle so that we could visit the Black Ankle winery in Mt. Airy. I would not go back to the Yellow Turtle. Joan, the proprietor is a very nice and I am sure, a good hearted person. There is no question that she tries very, very hard to make her place welcoming, warm... More

As we walked the overgrown pathway to the unswept porch, we were greeted by a sign on the door telling us we were already checked in and could find our own way to the room. Joan mysteriously appeared, ushered us toward our room, and was not seen again for the duration of our 2-day stay. In fact, we didn't see... More

My husband and I stayed at the YTI nine long years ago and never forgot it. We returned this past June and had another lovely stay. Joan, the owner and proprietor was lovely, provided yummy brunches, and scheduled and arranged our romantic dinner for two and couples massage. Ruth and Michelle, our masseuses were fabulous. They listened to my littany... More

My wife and I love B&Bs. We understand about the realities of rustic historic houses. That being said, this place had a run-down feeling that made us leave even though we'd paid upfront. The grounds were full of decaying furniture and overgrown weeds, the interior was dusty and we actually walked through cobwebs. When we arrived there was a sign... More

Short weekend stay, wish I could have stayed longer. Marvelous brunch served at 10am, continental breakfast earlier. Inn is full of charm, interesting features throughout. Extremely comfortable bed, although it looked like it would be too soft. Free internet connection, but you had to move around to find the strongest signal. Do give this place a try!

My husband and I love to travel to small towns and always stay at a B & B. We recently visited the Yellow Turtle Inn and made ourselves a wonderful memory. The home was at least 200 years old and you can feel it's history, It was like going back in time with the comforts of today. We stayed in... More
